Path of Exile is an online Action RPG set in the dark fantasy world of Wraeclast. It is developed by the indie game studio Grinding Gear Games and is their first title. Path of Exile is not your typical online RPG. There are many differences between the type of game it is compared to other well known ARPGs, such as the Diablo series. Here is a list of notable features of the game: ? No gold. In Path of Exile, currency items are used to create and modify your gear as well as being a means of bartering with other players. For example, you can pickup a random magic item and use an Alteration Orb to reroll the mods the item has. The resulting item mods can be better or worse, depending on your luck. ? White (base) items are not purely useless junk items. Unlike traditional online games, white items serve as the base items you can use to craft more powerful gear from using currency items. For example, you can use a Chance Orb to upgrade a white base item into a unique item (if you are lucky!). ? There are no active skill trees. Skills are items (skill gems) that you obtain from quests and from looting monsters. Skill gems gain experience while they are equipped and grow more powerful. You can trade skill gems and use them as currency as well to barter with players, as there is a supply and demand for the more uncommon skills. ? There is a massive passive skill graph that you can use to grow your character, and change key game mechanics. For example, you can choose a passive skill that allows you to use health instead of mana for casting skills. You will gain one skill point per level, and can unlock additional points completing quests. ? Leagues. Path of Exile supports ladders and custom game modes implemented through timed races. In one type of race, all mobs might deal substantial elemental damage. In another race, the move and attack speed is increased. Some leagues have items that can only be found in those leagues. ? End game is implemented through a "map system". Maps are items that drop from mobs that can be used to create a portal to a new area. There are a limited amount of portals that can be used to get to and from this area, so the player must carefully choose when to go to town to drop off loot if they fill their inventory. Since maps are consumed after use, it is important the player fully clears them to increase their chances of getting more maps. ? The cash shop contains cosmetic items that offer no game play advantage. There are no pay-to-win items being sold. The most commonly purchased micro-transaction is additional stash space (you cannot extend your inventory space) . While each account can hold 24 characters, you can also buy more character slots if required. These are merely convenience offerings that do not affect gameplay. Path of Exile officially launches October 23rd. This release will contain new content, skills, and game mechanics. For more information about this, please check out the announcements forum (Forum - Announcements - Path of Exile). Exilebuddy is a bot that provides an API for creating automated and semi-automated programs that interact with Path of Exile. The goal of Exilebuddy is to provide an API that allows people to do anything they could in game through the bot. The current bot that Exilebuddy provides is a basic GrindBot. The GrindBot will travel to a select number of user defined location, full clear the area, loot any items that match a pickup filter, then travel back to town to vendor and stash those items based on user filters. It will then repeat the process. Additional bots are being developed as well as additional improvements and features for the GrindBot. For example, a more compete bot that can do quests, auto-level and fully play the game, and other things of that nature. The API provided is also receiving additional improvements and features as time goes along. Exilebuddy is in the early stages of its lifetime, so you can count on it greatly improving and being able to do just about anything reasonable in game as it progresses. And do not forget, please thank Grinding Gear Games for their excelent work, by adding some nice items from their shop to your inventory. I myself am Diamond Supporter there, since November 2012. As a side note, some people publically started arguing, that there are bots in Path of Exile, they mention on forums, seeing four Chars running simultaniously Now GGG says Multiboxing automation is legitime, but Bots are not. Now, all we do and will do is, to automate the game mechanics and nothing more. Multiboxing is automation.
I multiboxed a bit in the beginning, but like diablo 3 it was annoying since they each had different runspeed and I had to sync them against walls every now and then. /players 8 but in another fashion.
