Yup, after 2 years of strain. My whole set-up finally gave in. Granted, it has spent 2 years overclocked from the stock e7400 at 2.8ghz up to 4.0ghz. With a healthy OC to my HD 4890 too. Anyway, after some terrible over-heating the past 4 months and fans louder than my GF talking during a movie, it's given in.

Does this suck? Yes. And no. 775 is way old tbh, it's about time I upgraded, I'm just careful with my money hah. The new plan? Blow a wad of cash, ?600 *$1000 or so*, on a new 2500k set-up that will hopefully last me another 2 years :).

Just felt like sharing.. Hah. God I loved that system, it got me through oblivion, crysis, turok, farcry2, ENDLESS hours of WoW, 3D rendering back in my college days.. I guess the new system will be a step up but man I'll miss the old one :(.

letting an old pc overheat is an excellent excuse to upgrade :) my bot farming rig made violent noise for 5 weeks before the video card started shutting down. i thought about a new rig but with no new games that interest me until SWTOR I decided to buy a $3 vidcard fan and now it's as quiet as a mimic and back to doing its job.
