Got an email yesterday saying I have been banned due to cheats or "Hacks". I only used gatherbuddy about 10 hours a day, and havent botted in atleaste 24 hours when I received the ban. I replied playing dumb asking why this was happening. They restored my account!
Exactly. Play the dumb card. Whatever they are using to catch botters it either isnt a 100% method or they are just trying to show botters they have them on their radar. I think they are hesitant to lay down too many 100% bans because they dont want to cut off too many people who arent seriously hurting the economy.
Should I continue to bot? I have always been extremely safe, when Im not at the computer, I get push notifications to my phone on whispers, and remote access from my smartphone to reply. That hasnt even happened in forever so I'm confused as to why it happened to begin with. Maybe just players reporting me when they come across me but they dont say anything? That doesnt seem valid because theres no real proof. Is honorbuddy coded to stop on an unexpected teleport?
To be honest its up to what you are willing to lose. Botting is never safe. At the same time if the cops are looking for drug mules, its probaly not a good time to go around with an ounce of coke in your pocket. My advice. Lay low for a couple of weeks. Play those characters like a human from time to time. Then, when the dust has settles and gotham is ashes....you have my permission to bot.
To be honest, I just realised my computer has been at my buddys house for a month about 3 days before the ban using a different IP address. I think when they see different IPs in the logs, they might assume the account has been compromised. Thats probably the ONLY reason I successfully got it appealed.
