I was wondering if this is more in the vein of something that can be done via a plugin or if it's more of a feature request for the bot itself, but I was thinking it'd be nice to have the ability to set it so for certain zones (Southern Thanalan, Coerthas, Mor Dhona, South Shroud, probably others) you could check the distance of the path being requested and compare that to the distance between a given aetheryte and the destination is. I'm not sure if this would increase load on the nav server too much or if that kind of request is even how the nav server handles thing in the first place, but something like being able to have it choose to teleport to an aetheryte if the path distance is 25% of the current path distance would be pretty nice (and help a lot for fate grinding). I've got some coding experience, though I've never messed with C# and some of the plugins I've seen I don't even know what's going on code-wise (I'm out of practice too), so if it's even POSSIBLE to do this on a plugin end, if someone wants to help point me in the right direction I could start to work on it. Otherwise, any ideas?
I don't think i would suit coded within a plugin, but rather into the Fate bot its self... And that lies the issues, Far more important tasks to be completed and from i see there is only 1 dev working on this bot so there is only so much that can be done by 1 man. if you wish to have a look at it your self, I would start having a look at the code with in the fatebot, learn the code and see if you can add the feature your self... i know very little about codeing, but even i have began to uderstand how this bot works they have made it very easy. (not to say this task would be easy)
I doubt this will happen. Even if someone did decide to take up the job of doing it, it would likely take a while, and it wouldn't really save that much time at all.
OP, Is your server incredibly high population? I just don't see this saving much time at all. I don't find fatebot missing out on many fates, and I have taken 4-5 jobs through Coerthas at this point, on what I would consider a well populated server. I agree with the above poster. I just don't see the time saved (if any) being worth the effort at this point in time.
