i am, and im sure many others, are very skeptical of botting with the new warden. I read over at mmowned that Apoc said it was completly rewritten. Now, you dont spend the time in resources completly rewriting an anti-cheat system for nothing. And they had to of been working on it for quite awhile. I doubt this is somthing that was created in a night. \ So what me real question is, what changed in the new warden? are there new and more frequent scans? scanning out of process? Id assume the devs could answer some, if not all of these questions since they feel ready to release a new version of their product. Again, i have botted for many years, i know the risk, but i have a gut feeling about this one. -Blink99
Honestly, The dev team would not release somthing that they felt was not up to the task. We are talking about a buisness and while a banwave is not 100 percent avoidable on any bot. Every possible nook and crack was looked at.
yea i understand that. But, i know it took more than 4 days to develop the new warden. I am not trying to bash the hb devs but, you would think blizzard took time to make warden hard to reverse, and here is a updated gb 4 days later.
While it may take months or days to rewrite warden, the devs are only adding code to detect it not a complete rewrite. Hope that makes sense. Morga
if people knew anything about it people would of said something by now. reversing a program like that, takes time.
I look at it as a cat and mouse game. The dev at HB are paid to stay a step ahead, and while they may not know all the ins on warden, they may be able to recognize when it gives a positive flag to detection. This is where their tripwire comes in. So in theory, their latest release may not be detected this week, but could very well be detected next. No different than previous versions, patches, etc, etc. Although, I would love for one of them to share some of the differences with Warden 2. Just out of interest how it was developed and implemented.
look at it this way, you dont want the enemy knowing what you know, if people started listing of its functions, they could be laughing thier asses off because it could be false ones, while the really evil stuff is still buried. what im saying is its an advantage to US, if they think we dont know.
I never said it was rewritten. (Because it wasn't) Someone must have took something I said out of context.
I remember seeing on this forum somewhere about it being completely rewritten, not entirely sure though.
If I were Blizzard, I wouldnt switch the new Warden on until two months after the patch went live and every bot was updated with the new offsets. Let everyone get comfortable and feel safe and then flick the switch and catch them out. But thats just me...
Well, one would think they would develop Warden to defeat current tripwire methods. By not showing their hand until its time to play it, they could supprise the botting world and catch many people out. Otherwise, whats the point of making any changes to Warden if existing products can remain undetected and safe, unless you had a trick up your sleeve. I'm not trying to be mr negative, but I can't be the only person to imagine this scenario, and I would think anyone worth their salt at Blizzard would have thought of this as well.
