Mooncloud has already done the reinstall of Windows and that would mean a new install of FFXIV. I did a complete new install of FFXIV and RB multiple times along with removing software, updating drivers, reinstalling dx9, running ccleaner and other additional tweaks all to no avail. This is a Square Enix issue. There are just too many posts in the official FFXIV forums now that indicate it's a server issue and not just on our server. People are saying they can't raid due to FC mates disconnecting. When the raiding community starts shouting at Square I'm sure something will be done. It's a mystery as to why the entire population of FFXIV is not affected.
I have done both methods. I complete fresh install, which still exhibited the issue. Then I copied the entire game from my other computer (which is working 100% with RBB) and that still exhibited the issue. This was after a complete re-installation of Windows. I have also tried rolling back video card drivers to 1 week, 3 weeks, 6 weeks, and 12 weeks ago. Nothing fixed it. I have tried DX9 and DX11, broken in both. I have also run a memory test, so see if there were actually any issues with my memory. Result: No failures. I'm pretty much out of ideas here.
So mine started crashing yesterday again after I rebooted my computer. I remember after it crashing last time that it started working again after the holiday when a friend returned and we started playing other games again. I decided to test something. The only 2 things i tested were (in this order) 1. Start up Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition from Steam. I immediately closed it after loading my character. 2. turn off Plays.tv. This is an application that installs itself along with the latest AMD Radeon drivers. It attaches itself to games to record screens so i thought it may be an issue. After doing these 2 things FFXIV worked again without crashing! I am not sure if it is repeatable and I am worried if I turn off my game it will crash again, but as soon as i restart again I will repeat the test to see if it is the fix. Do any of you with issues have AMD graphics cards? Can anyone else out there look to see if they have Plays.tv installed? I am curious if this is the issue.
I exited the plays.tv app that came in my AMD driver and the bot seems to be working fine now. When I opened the app to exit it, there was a change log which makes me think there was a background update to it that I didn't notice. Maybe it's just an issue with the new plays.tv update? I'll post back after it's been running for a while if it crashes again or not.
No longer having issue after exiting plays.tv, been botting for several hours without issue. I also can just turn the recording off in the preferences with same result.
I have a nvidia GTX970 card with Intel i7 6700K - nothing overclocked by me. Should matter anyways as the game and RB worked fine last month and the months before that! I uninstalled the drivers using DDU and installed a previous driver that worked along with not installing any of their 3D, pys, hd audio or game experience software and played ffxiv for awhile today and then it started crashing again. I'm pretty much fed up. Happy to hear you may have solved your issues. Please report back if it does crash.
its really hard to say if its "working correctly" again because i've gone 17 hours without it crashing only to have it happen again so i have no idea
Formated my laptop to try and see if i could go without crashes on it (never had ff14 installed ever) after 5 hours it crashes the same way so i'm thinking i'm sort of screwed on the issue
