why this bot dont have DungeonBuddy im using this bot till long time.. very long time but still dont have dungeonbuddy like wow... maybe this bot needs more attention... maybe payed stuffs...
This bot does need more help from the community to develop things, but either most of us don't know how, no inspiration/motivation, or they are in another community. ): But I don't think the bot itself has support for dungeons at the moment and would maybe be a bit hard to make a legit script (no teleport) for the dungeon depending on which dungeon.
I dont think theyll ever add dungeon support that isnt combat assist. It puts its customers at too much risk for being reported or banned. However, i still think that this community needs more attention like you said. I just got back into this game and it seems as if every plugin/profile i use has stopped being worked on or is half finished. This leads me to being a bit afraid come havensword because most of these plugins/profiles will be broken or there will be very little added for new content. =(. This game is so great. Wish it had a larger community on the buddy forum. Im trying to learn to make a few profiles however none ever come out good. Between military and family i cant find enough time to finish a project. So i appreciate the ones that are active!
Well, if a profile was made pretty dang well, it could possibly be able to do dungeons with you running more copies of FFXIV. About the plugin/profiles, plugins will probably be broken depending on what they do. Zekken is already partially broken and Heavensward has yet to come. Profiles should be fine, if anything just a small fix should be good I think.
There's just little incentive to offer support for plugins and bot bases that we community developers no longer personally use. I understand not everyone is a programmer that can easily change something to fit their needs, but it's impressive the amount of support you end up giving and feature requests you end up receiving when you make something. And once you, personally, no longer need it (like Zekken in my case, or Agil's mender repairs since I can self-repair now) the drive to keep it updated falls short, since there's nothing to gain from it anymore. It ends up feeling like you're "working for free". That's just the reality of things I suppose. In terms of a Dungeon Bot, it's something we've discussed in the dev Skype chat plenty of times. The thing is, it's a HUGE undertaking; it requires better spell avoidance and pathfinding, per-dungeon per-boss behaviors, etc. Just the avoidance alone is not easy, I've been thinking that if I ever get to make the next Zekken, I would use something like quadtrees to sort the vertices of the dungeon's mesh and quickly find "bad" triangles that are affected by telegraphed spells through polygonal intersections, then use actual navmesh pathfinding to avoid them without getting stuck. That alone is a lot of work, though. Lisbeth 2.0 alone has already clocked me on 3000 lines of code. It's just too much for a simple hobby, it's not like it's a job that pays.
Well the whole community knows that for "real" afk dungeon botting you need alot more since SE actually gives fucks about reports. But as you mentioned that would be alot of work for a hobby or even too much. So why not ask the community for help? I mean it's obvious that we want this feature, because ffxiv is just about farming. I bet here are alot guys who could help you or the dev's out.
Yup I would help out as much as I can with information and testing and all wise. When I first joined this community and found out the state of it, I pretty much begged @Kagepanda if I could help with anything at all because I wanted to give back, but I don't have that kind of coding/scripting knowledge to do so. So I wanted to contribute with the production of any work or projects. But I do understand that sometimes you make these plugins/profiles and you release it because it may help out other people, but hope for donations in return for all the work and do not get it. I do understand that and back when I was able to make programs to automate tasks that would make tons of beermoney, I was going to sell it too. Instead I was not able to release it in time because they patched my method and before I did released a polished product I would give it out to whoever knew I had one. With the reputations I had on the forums I would not be able to release them on some forums due to not enough post count. As of now I do have a program that I released and some people found useful, but apparently it's detected and my account got banned so like you @Neverdyne I never got any money (I know it's small programs I'm sorry not enough knowledge) so I had no motivation and to add on to that I didn't have an account anymore so I couldn't test the program The community was booming back in like 2012 and in 2013-14 everything became private so I wanted to get something out there just to help people, to get things started again, but yeah.. Lack of motivation. I initially just released it to help out and to get a smile on my face when people used it, but yeah...
I really hope this does not happen. Botting right now is about as safe as botting gets. The only time im not botting is during maint and shortly after till the bot is updated, and no warnings at all. You throw a possible bad dungeon bot into the mix that messes with other peoples play, theres gonna be a shit ton more botting reports. Then the bans will start.
