you can loot these chests one time, ever. it takes about 45 min to do by hand.

Not sure about Skull-Covered Chest but you don't need the legendary Cloak for Blazing Chest.

 

45 minutes isn't worth much to you then. Just because it's not an unlimited farm doesn't mean it wouldn't be beneficial to a botter, especially one with a fresh 90 who wants free 496 epics just for a few mouse clicks to load and start the profile and afk for a while. Example of a similar one-time profile: Lorewalkers Rep.

Are you sure you mean Blazing Chest and not Smoldering Chest?

 

When bot is up, I will be adding a profile that will run across the isle doing all but blazing chest (legendary required), then will farm coins thereafter. Since chests are tied by invisible quests its very easy

 

There is no legendary required.

Slowfall / Goblin Glider works, too. ;-)

 

Program a profile or behavior that will climb the post you need to jump on, cast, jump at the right point, and make it, and I'll take it back.

 

it seems like a good idea, i guess, for alts, it's probably a good idea.

much like DMF is a nightmare for running alts...


however, for non-tanks, it's going to be brutal. god forbid, some of these chests are surrounded by elites and near-infinitely respawning mobs when the area's filled with other players.

some need the golden albatross to slowfall to get near, which is purchasable from a vendor on the island.

and of those, some rely on jumping puzzles (i wonder which guild related MMO they borrowed the idea from for that...)
might need a QB to handle the jumping / falling movement a "floatTo" QB that uses click to move to target a mob may/should/could work.

some are underwater, etc.

probably an idea to path by some of the easier elite mobs, depending on how survivable this is as cloth.

 

Yes but ignore my previous comment, apparently they hotfixed it a few hours ago. Fuckers..

Been hotfixed, I've asked several mages and priests to Slow Fall/Levitate me but they can't.

EDIT: Has anyone tried with an two seater mount?
EDIT2: You can get up there by lifting with a Highwind Albatross, just dps it once and it will pick you up and fly you around the map.

So yeah, you can still get Blazing Chest without a legendary cloak.

Skull-Covered Chest is in the cave not the legendary area.

 

again, these are single use chests. a "fresh 90" is going to get RAPED by the first mob it encounters there, and that island has elite mobs every 10 yards. many of the chests are in difficult places. with tom-tom waypoints it takes about 45 min max by hand and is kind of fun.

god bless anyone making a profile for this but this is the dumbest use of bot i've seen yet. again, THIS PLACE IS FILLED WITH ELITES THAT WILL DESTROY THE BOT. you are gonna die nonstop and maybe get reported since there is no flying and honorbuddy sucks ass at navigating and loves to get stuck on anything bigger than a pebble.

 

i've gotten blazing chest on all my toons, u want to hop into the blood pool and make your way around the court to the blazing chest.

as a hunter disengage, pally bubble, warlock ss rez

fly around the back map boundaries and fly into it aiming for the blood pool

On the ground level, a good 50-60% of all mobs are yellow (neutral) and won't attack unless provoked.
Using the bot is done so at the user's risk anyways, so if you send an undergeared bot into an area of elites with the intention to try and get it to attack them, well that's just silly!
Also with the area population the way it is now and at least for the next week or two, sending a bot into the area with certain chests (guarded ones) won't be too much of an issue yet, as the mobs are all busy with grinders trying to get every coin they can now, instead of over time.

 

This, pretty much, will be what most of the profile could, or will settle into.

Either lost +found loops of missing crates, or as part of an object gather plugin. Either one.

i.e you can set this up as a quest script (??) to determine which ones are left... the quest ID's for each crate are listed on wowhead for the achievement, "Treasure, Treasure everywhere", under the quest names of "one-time chest 026" for quest 33196 etc.

tie the chest locs to each quest, then figure out some way to break the 34 chests into small sections of the island, which will make buying any gliders or slowfall items, or the shaohao rep grind part of later conditions.

The whole place is new, I assume not meshed yet either... meh.

Since they're 1x per character, this makes it somewhat easier to avoid looping endlessly like a grind profile, the challenge is just... figuring out which areas are "safe" for 380 -480 ilvl characters... and

given the battlefield barrens grind areas are what, 460 to 490 spec, often in some fantastically unsurvivable areas... (grumble)

Going to face similar problems with the shaohao rep anyway... apart from kill all the turtles...

All chests are individually bound to a quest. Meaning the moss covered chest at "XYZ" is bound to quest 12345. If 12345 is done, ignore that spot. The chests are phased so any that you haven't received "should" be present at all times until picked up by your character. No need for grinds or endless looping, you can get all but 3 in one pass (blazing and 2 sturdy ones on top of mountains requiring "flying"). Turtle, crane, and yak farming is moderately safe for high 400 iLvl chars so far I've seen.

Considering that all gear and burdens are BoA I would almost recommend farming with a tank class (survivability) and mailing out stuff. These mobs give no rep, and I wouldn't recommend rep grinding on anything less that 490.
Rep grind will only go til honored too. If rep from LFR is anything like tot was, you should be close to that in 2 weeks worth of visits without much grinding.

 

I thought the Moldy Chests re-spawned once a week ?
Atleast that is what they are saying in chat.

Can anyone confirm once only or once weekly ?

 

I believe this is just speculation. I would wait either until a blue post on this, or until after the reset next week and check.
