While playing my mage on my non-botting account the other day I thought about HB being able to simply spam in trade every once in a while /2 WTS Portals to all main citys pst for invite and when they pst you, you invite them and cast the portal they want. Not sure if honorbuddy would be able to accomplish this but this would be a great source of income for those without gatherbuddy.
how much can you earn by selling portals ? (sorry i'm a pure botter, i dont play the game, i just farm and sell gold, so i dont know how much a portal worth, but is definitely interested in all that can make me money $.$)
Usually depends on your server. On my server people usually either pay/tip 15g per portal and sometimes more.
You could make something that says in trade that trade gold first and then ONLY say the zone they want to travel to in the party chat
you'd have to detect where they wanted the portal to.. then detect that they've given you the right amount of gold.. i dunno, doesnt seem viable.
You don't have to detect the amount they give you, the reagent only costs a couple silver, lowest tip i've gotten was 1g, which is still profit. My tips are usually: Lowest : 1g, had maybe 3 people tip this low because they were real low lvl. Average: 15-25g Highest: Had 4 people give me 50g before. Obviously not common but some people... I made a couple hundred in a little over an hour when they first took portals out of the game, everyone wanted one, and still do.. Best time to make money with it is like 1am-5am, when not alot of people are on, and people need a port. IMO this would be the best money maker vs any other botting method, but that is just my opinion, I could be wrong, no flames plz. Hope this helps
ive explained before, that the protocol for dealing with a person face to face in game selling a port changes from person to person. having a bot do it just wouldn't work as there are so many ways your protocols for dealing with it can break, even from a person mistyping or mis spelling something. and you wouldnt make that much gold, not for the time it would take to program it, and not for the time spent leaving your toon on and connected, just for the off chance someone will want a portal from uldum to stormwind (for example). i had code that would allow this to happen in a party environment, but even then it hardly seems effective. there's way to many things that can go wrong, just having a portal bot creates a lot of risk for little to no reward.
You must not be making any gold from HB at all... people like myself who make 15-20k a day off one account alone selling cata herbs look at stuff like this and laugh. I dont mean to come off the wrong way but standing around asking for 15g for portal reminds me of the guy on the corner in the city with no job holding a sign reading "will work for food" Anyway, happy botting.

well, seems pretty simple. Chat logs could be made for things such as Portal Z Dalaran = dal, dala, dalar, dalaran, dalarn, dalrn, dldrn. etc to govern all MTs. Orgrimmar = same idea.... Send message to X message variable Y. Y=Random Message select: where ya headed where ya going where to Where do you need the port? What city? Port to? etc Spam trade = 60000 (in milliseconds) Trade message = Mage selling portals to all major cities. PST. Tips appreciated. Accept party invite Waiting for trade... Trade = 1.0.0 minimum If trade < 1g --- cancel trade. say: no tip?, tip please, 1g minimum. If trade > 1g --- accept trade ... create portal Z
Actually Final Fantasy XI had many a potal bot available. These simple waited till someone said "Portal" and invited them to the party. Then once a set fee was traded it would take them to whichever portal point they had asked for. It would not invite until it knew where the person wanted to go and could also be set up to advertise. Definately worked well, but then FFXI was expensive for portals ^^
This would make traveling so much easier Think of how much good this bot actually good do, talking about it's 'bad' to bot ^_-
Gotta remember to verify that the person is in the same city as you before inviting them to group. No point inviting them if they are in Exodar and you are in Stormwind. IMHO, not really worth the time to code this when there are better money-making plug-ins etc. I'm sure it could be done though.
