Operating System: Windows 8 Developer Preview (Fully up to date incl. all drivers)
Honorbuddy Version: 2.0.0.5387 (Blank clean install)

Problem: When I launch World of Warcraft, log into my character then run HonorBuddy.exe as an Administrator, I am prompted for my username and password. Upon entering correct information it starts working it's magic until it crashes (see figure a). I've tried running it in Compatibility mode (Windows XP SP3) no luck. I'm suspsecting maybe it's something to do with Windows 8.

I also attached the log file. If there's any other information you would like to know, please let me know! I'm assuming this is a bug with Windows 8. Was just wondering (I already searched) if a workaround is possible.

      Thanks in advance,

      Sean

I figured. Do you think there could be a possiblity we could figure out a workaround? Windows 8 is similar to Windows 7 in terms of software compatibility.

yes, but your running a completely different kernel, completely different .net support and direct x versions then anything we have seen before, theres no reason to spend time updating / compiling for a new version of windows, when by the final version of the OS the issues would resolve themselves. so basicly No RTM , No HB Support. theres a reason why its a developer preview and not RTM, installing as your main OS might be a mistake.

All i can think of m8 is a virtual machine, not the optimal choice but as said by the staff, no use to try making it compatible yet since the windows 8 isnt final yet.

      *Edit* hope it helps

Fair enough. I just thought there might have been that chance but yes I agree it isn't even official yet it's just a developer preview.

BUT IT'S SOOOOOO GOOD :) I can't complain about it at all. Resource management is great too.

Anyways thanks for letting me know! Also I found out my WoW isn't fully up to date. I'll maybe try it when it is up to date. Who knows maybe it'll work then

Actually I was just at WOW Bots Gatherbuddy & Honorbuddy and noticed that it states it has support for Windows 8. I was wondering is this just misleading or is there maybe a new version approaching that supports Windows 8?

When Win8 comes closer to RTM, we'll look into proper support for it.

For now, its still in early CTP status, so its really not worth bothering to support just yet. (MS released it for driver manufacturers, etc, for the most part)

In the meantime; make sure WoW is using DX9 (and not DX11 as it defaults to nowadays)

Yeah. Even after I've made sure it's DX9 it still crashes :(

I'm also wondering if maybe it has to do with me copying and pasting World of Warcraft folder from one pc to another?

Hm. Ok. I'll wait until there is support for Windows 8. Thank you Tony and Apoc.
