So yeah I got suspended for 72 hours, I didnt do any mindless fate grinding or gathering, I was just using combat routines in my daily roulettes. not sure if I got caught by a party member though also Ive been getting kicked out the server multiple times. so will i get permanently suspended if I get caught again?
You got suspended when all you were doing was using combat assist? I'm not saying you're a liar or anything, but I doubt that's the real reason you got the 72 hour.
Yeah it sounds strange that you would get suspended for that. Maybe the combat routine did something obviously botish in front of the other 4 party members? That's the only way I can see it happening.
I've been botting with combat routines in dungeons since day one, and never received a warning for this at all. It has got to be something else you did.
As I have written multiple routines and tested them in many a state of disrepair, some of which are just downright embarrassing in dungeons, I too find this to be highly suspicious of the reason for you getting konked.
Lets go further into details. What routine and combat bot base where you using? Also it would be most appreciated if you could post a pic of the email your received from SE, editing out identifying information.
I've been using this bot since Day 1 and extensively at that. The only ban I've ever received was on a throwaway account and I was caught for using a speed hack, nothing in the email because I was botting. Not implying what you say is untrue, but if SE were to have an anti-***** system similar to Blizzard's Warden that automatically detects 3rd party apps running in the background which in turn has issued out three banwaves in the last year I'd say there would be many many more than just you posting here. Like above, it would be appreciated greatly if you could post a picture of your email (while obviously editing out sensitive information).
I'm pretty sure I just did daily roulettes before I got banned, i had bad parties the with all my roulettes i logged out after and because it stated it occured march 9 , received the email and started my suspension on march 10. the last time i fate botted is a couple of days ago before march 9 when i was max leveling my last battle class , BLM. combat routine im using is https://www.thebuddyforum.com/rebornbuddy-forum/combat-routines/223247-ffxiv-combat-routines.html , (bcs it has customizable DRK combo) and Mud Assist Screenshot of the email http://imgur.com/H7FPXub
Ya, I assume it takes them couple of days or even weeks to review player reports, as there are only 3 people in their Special Task Force https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/31a1qa/semispoiler_rmt_special_task_force_consists_of_3/
The investigation process is catching the perp multiple times during different instances often spread days or even weeks apart. The investigator checks you out every now and then, judges your behavior at the time and checks up on you again later and so on. You could have triggered an investigation 1-2 months ago and march 9th is the day they concluded that you are using a bot. What most likely happened, you were using FATE bot unattended too long, some player watched you and submitted a report, 1-2months later the investigating party finds you guilty through server logs and usual activity.
Your account was a part of a ban/suspension sweep that SE does periodically. You couldn't have been suspended just for using a combat routine you had to have been doing other activities to raise suspicion in the past and you're suspension was a result of that. With that said I have been botting since 2.0 and I have never gotten so much as a warning, that said I feel it helps to be social while botting and bot while afk as little as possible cause you are a lot less suspicious if you are actually at the computer talking to people rather than not saying a word for 3 days while you have the bot doing whatever
Same here. Sometimes while farming red scrips on my server I see the same guy there, I know he's using the same profile as me. He literally goes non-stop for weeks which is incredibly annoying because he just brings more attention to himself and others using that profile.
Alright thank you guys for all the info and feedback really helps me out to not get caught again , just to make sure im most probably gonna stay off the gathering/ fatebot from now on, but I will be using combat routines in dungeons , they wouldnt be able to detect me right unless the bot does something stupid that gives it away that its a bot right?
They probably wouldn't have a reason to look at your account unless they do follow-ups, but it's possible to tell if you're using a CR. I mean if you don't check the AFK option your toon goes AFK, same happens if fishing, so if they look I would assume they can tell you're not actually touching anything. The question is if they look, and if they do how often.
I'm not sure if this will be helpful or not, but I have a friend in World of Warcraft who'll report anyone who's being an asshole for botting. For example if he's in an instance group and some random hunter is rolling need on everything, but refuses to say anything when confronted--there's a chance he might be a botter, and he'll report them in the hopes they'll get investigated and/or suspended. Anyways, I guess my point was, that even if you're botting in an almost undetectable fashion, it's still possible for people to randomly report you for botting if you bring attention to yourself. The key to botting is to always keep a low profile. Especially when in a group situation. There's always a chance you got investigated, because you pissed someone off.
