      Hi all,

I used to bot this a while ago, using space botting and I wanted to try it again now (not space botting ofc). I appear to have serious issues though :

      - VMware + windows 7 32 bit causes either black screen or the VMware to crash.
      - VMware + windows xp 32 bit doesn't appear to load the game, after you select a character. Loading screen just stucks at 25%.
      - no VMware, windows 7 64 bit and Buddy wing .... the bot locks quite often and sometimes when I stop the bot, the game closes entirely...

How are you guys botting this ? I am interested in the setup, not the profiles you are using.

      Thank you

VMWare may not be able to handle it since it has graphics (don't quote me on that). I haven't tried it. ISBoxer works and the bot locking up when you hit stop isn't uncommon.

Launching multiple instances of SWTOR with isboxer is not an issue. I can open 3 without any problems. However if I launch more than 2 buddy wing sessions, the bots crash almost instantly... keep eating up memory and I had to kill them from task manager.

yes yes that is a known issue with SWTOR, and one that I also had to work through. Not sure if it makes you feel better to know you are not the only one with this issue? lol
Main culprit seems to be "shadows". Make sure to turn that off. Also somewhere on the net are examples of settings.ini files for optimal performance. You need to change your .ini files for swtor. Do a google search for that.

P.S meant to say it does not seem to be a BW problem, but rather a SWTOR problem.

Hmm... The SWTOR windows are ok, but the BW windows just dissapear from the taskbar. And when I look in the task manager, they start eating up memory, reaching up to 1gb+ RAM. Plus, if I kill a non-responding BW window, next time I start it , it sees the SWTOR instance already taken by the old BW instance and I have to kill all BW sessions in order to attach them again. And since the crashes are quite often, this is a pain in the ass.

I know exactly what you mean, since I have seen this as well and it is a HUGE pain in the ass to say the least. :) We have asked/begged/pleaded whatever so often in the past about having the ability to select PID's etc. No love :)
So, all you can do is try and optimize your swtor windows to use as little resources as possible. And those silly memory leaks does sort of minimize a tad by using a memory cleaner as well. This is what worked for me...BUT I must add that I use it with Ama's PURE and recently used it with UNPURE (to grind 3 f2p's). His CR's are less "bloated" and seems to work much better in a multibox env.

i did exactlly after that guide :)

      this !

      this !

i also use unpure and memory cleaner but no luck with that in isboxer, only as solo farming, usually it runs overnight. But in isboxer 2 instances, 5-20min then game over on 1 instance.

I know this is probably going to sound really retarded, but I bet you will try anything at this stage? :) Do not minimize BW. (Obviously you are not minimizing your SWTOR instances). I renamed each exe to the account name, and have them stacked in the corner of my screen. Easier to follow the logs if something does go wrong. Also, easier to see which toon's bot is in trouble. BW does not do well at all when I minimize it to my taskbar...it will crash. Other than that..I dunno....

yes i would try anything :) I am throwing money at the screen but nothing happens :D

so :) what should BE minimized and what NOT?

ROTFL! I am so sorry...but I bet you forgot to slaughter a chicken and sprinkle the blood on the LEFT corner of your screen? That is the secret....yikes lol
Seriously though, try not to minimize anything at first. Do not enable "swap windows" either, disable shadows in SWTOR and just about everything else too (just for starters - change later). Arrange everything on your screen in neat little blocks, make sure nothing is minimized and go sleep (0r drink ...or.... :) Tomorrow you can tell me what a retard I was and that it did not work...<chuckle>
SWTOR is so dang finicky tbh...what works for one system does not work for another and so on...but this really cannot be a BW issue alone (maybe a wee bit, but not everything)

The problem is not with the SWTOR client. The problem is multiple instances of BW. You can easily test : once an instance gets stuck and you press stop and start , it can target a different SWTOR window, thus messing it up. I am guessing their APIs don't lock on a specific instance like HB does and just targets whatever it can find, which is buggy and wrong.

I always have SWTOR non-minimized, BW sometimes minimized, sometimes not, i think it doesn't really matter. My GFX settings in game at the lowest possible i belive thats without shadows :)

You know what...I believe there is an issue with the latest version of isboxer and BW. I was an idiot and upgraded mine, and have had endless hassles since the upgrade. :( Trying to figure out wth is going on now. Why oh why did I do that aaaaargh...
      Which version are you using?

I gave up with isboxer, BW crashes every 2 minutes, it's impossible to play it like that. Using just one SWTOR instance + BW works pretty decent . Slow with Kick's questing, but better than nothing .

Anyone using VMware or any other virtualization tool to run multiple instances on the same PC ?
