Looking for some insight on the recent bans I opened this thread not to bash Honorbuddy and the other buddy products but to get some insight on the subject and to discuss the triggers of many of the bans that have recently happened. From what I can tell, Blizzard has recently gone on a banning spree to speak. My goal by opening this thread is to try and find a reoccuring pattern in which these bans happen, whether it be too many hours in one zone or an excessive amount of looting within 1 hour. I know there's already a ban section but I'm hoping this thread will blow up somewhat big so that those of us who haven't been banned can learn from the unfortunate mistakes of others and what sort of botting activity we should avoid until the devs find a fix for the situation. If you've recently been banned within the last 2 weeks please post in this thread. Let us know... 1) Roughly how many hours in a 24 hour period you botted for, your country (US or EU) and your timezone. 2) The botbase(s) you used (Gatherbuddy, Honorbuddy, BGbuddy, Autoangler, etc) From what I can tell, it seems a MASSIVE number of bans are coming from Gatherbuddy. I've seen very few, if any bans coming from AutoAngler however I'd be VERY interested to hear from anyone who has been banned using strictly AutoAngler 3) *weird question but this may become my new main source of income if I can't mine anymore* If you had been using AutoAngler 3) The profile(s) you were using around the time of the ban 4) If anyone had recently whispered you saying they had reported you 5) The population of your server (New, Low, Medium, High, Full) Thanks in advance everyone, I'm looking forward to seeing the type of responses I get...Stay safe out here! Very helpful replies... I'm aware I can get all this information myself, 70% of my time spent on the forums is spent looking through the ban section...I made this thread more for convenience purposes so people DON'T need to look through 12 pages of ban reports however I apologize for trying to help other people.
I think its pretty simple: there a bajillion data points that could point to automation. They added more data points and more people are getting banned as a result. 1) Roughly how many hours in a 24 hour period you botted for, your country (US or EU) and your timezone.US, 12hrs/day, Central time 2) The botbase(s) you used, Gatherbuddy no bg botting 3) The profile(s) you were using around the time of the ban, Swizzie's 4) If anyone had recently whispered you saying they had reported you, NO 5) The population of your server (High, Full)
Thank you, this was exactly the kind of response I was looking for, thank you...Although it's been said a million times before, Gatherbuddy definitely looks to be the main culprit for the bans. On the other hand though, I've seen some bans from kick's profile but those have been mainly for the "harassment" ban mails they send out, meaning they were reported by someone
