Thick Leather n Dark Whelping Farming by Y SO SRS

Objective: Farming Thick Leather and Dark Whelping non combat Pet

The main reason for creating this profile was because while leveling my Rogue's Leather working skills I ran out of Thick Leather with nothing to buy on the AH. So I looked up on WoWhead.com to see what mobs as of Cata give the best rate for skinning this type of leather. I narrowed it down to the Nyxondra's Broodling located in the Badlands. Which are Directly west of New Kargath, they range from level 46-47 and have a 0.09% drop chance (306/323464 loots) of the Dark Whelping non combat pet. For all of you pet collectors out there who might also be in the need to farm some higher level leather than the stuff you get from the Ebon Whelps in the Wetlands then this is a good place to try! This profile does have a mailbox and a vendor/ repair, which is located at the Dragon's Mouth campsite.



Requirements:

• Alliance (would have to change the mailboxes and vendors for Horde)
• Must be using GRIND BOT base
• Preferably over the level of 60 for ease of farming

^Switch the bot base to GRIND BOT and in your settings make sure you set a "mail to" and in the loot type make sure the "skin mobs" button is checked!!!

**If someone would like to edit the mailbox and vendors for Horde, feel free and repost here so i can add it to this main post!**

So far with my first initial Test runs, I've gotten ~200 kills/loots an hour with minimal to no spots where the bot gets stuck. There are some minor targeting issues just due to range/ very "hilly" terrain but it doesnt cut down on the overall potential of the area.

just ended a long testing session and came up with

kills: 632 total (197/hr)
660 Thick Leather
173 Rugged Leather
17 Thick Hide
5-6 greens

 

Like every other skinning profile my char just ends up killing everything but doesnt skin them :/ any idea about why?

 

did you check the general settings under Setting & Tools? because if you dont have the little box check that says "loot mobs" and "Skin mobs" then it wont do either of those.

What if I do not see a general tab on my bot in settings? I cannot find where to have it skin! Pissing me off lol

When I click bot configs I am getting a levelbot window.... Only option I have is ground mount thingy....

Other than the fact that when travelling to this location, it takes you through the Horde camp which gets you killed over and over - if you start the bot in the middle of the farming location, it works perfectly ! thank you very much <3

 

I havent had that happen before but thats also just the bot choosing the path to run to get to the location my profile is just a list of markers for the bot to grind

 

Finally remembered to add the horde version to the main thread, thanks again Fygor.

about 400 thick leather
100 rugged
~50 gold lootings/selling greys
2 pets (RLY lucky )

Nice job with this man. Trying to level up LW and ran out of thick leather, glad I did a forum search for "Nyxondra" because I was about to create my own grind profile for this. Works great in 5.0.4 too. THANKS!

Why does my charatcer run around on a mount and not attack?

 

You need to make sure you have it set as grind bot if you havent.
