I have a full account I quit playing a few months ago. trial account can they be linked some how by the computer? can you buy, sell or transfer something to your main or is it just to test on? If you get high enough activate it then? is cleric the fastest leveling class, I know at one time they said druid/shaman/just was the fastest.
They probably can be, but I don't believe Trion is linking them together right now. But of course, that could change any time. With trial accounts, you can't mail or trade items to or from the trial account until its activated. Even if you're max trial level on your trial account, you still can't trade/mail/transfer items. Any healing class will be fast to level. I didn't notice any real difference in speeds when botting a mage, rogue or cleric. My warrior kills stuff the fastest, but also has a lot more downtime than the other classes.

That's the key, isnt it? Why wait until they actually do link them. Create your Trial Account and download it to a different folder and ONLY use your bot with this folder. It takes some training to discipline the mind to remember when to use each one, but why wait till they do link all accounts using same folder?
changing the folder will not hide the fact that you are the same person. if and when they do link the accounts it will be done through IP. Your best bet is do like i do i have my main account which I play on with my normal internet connection at home then I connect my laptop up through my cell phone (totally different IP) to bot with. That way they do not have the accounts linked together with my IP so if one gets banned then the other is safe.
There's many ways they could link the accounts. Here's the methods I came up with just off the top of my head. These are listed in no particular order: 1. They check IP addresses and see what accounts were logged from that IP 2. They check MAC address for matches and see what accounts are logged from the MAC 3. They check your home billing address between your accounts 4. They check your payment subscription information. They can see what accounts are being paid for with what credit cards/paypal accounts (this is probably the easiest way to tie an account together, and usually one of the first methods companies go to ) 5. They check the game logs and see if large trades/number of trades done between accounts and then use the research methods above. As drunknfool mentioned, changing the folder won't hide anything. Technology is way past that point. Every time you log into the game, you are giving Trion a lot of detailed information about your pc and your internet connection. Even if that information isn't enough to tie accounts together, your billing information, name and payment information will tie your accounts together easily.
With all due respect, Trion would be subject to soo many lawsuits if they banned accounts based on that information. Each account has its own ToS agreed to. No where does it say "All accounts you own will be banned if you cheat on one of them." The fact is i have always had 2 cheat accounts and one legit... I use 2 cheat ones from one directory and the non from another. It would not be that difficult for Trion to slip in some file into the directory that is linked to THAT directory and all accounts using THAT directory to be grouped together. There are Soo many ways things can be done, but what is the harm in doing everything possible to protect our accounts? Anyone that is looking to protect themselves, dont listen to people telling you NOT to do something. Use every possible protection you can think of. Is it going to hurt you to do so? No.. but it might be the one thing that saves your ass... The developers here have been in reactionary mode up till this point. Try being proactive. its YOUR account. Also keep in mind that im sure TRION is part of this forum, user of the bot, and may even be posting on this site. No one knows anyone here cept maybe a select few. Any advice NOT to do something to take measures should be viewed that way. REMEMBER... its YOUR ACCOUNT!!! I have alteast 3 measures i do before ever logging into my account. They may be simple things but i am surely not going to post them here incase they are simple... yet effective. Know what i mean?
Trion subject to too many lawsuits? You are aware that their ToS says that they can ban your account at any time, for any reason. Nor do they have to tell you why they banned your account. The fact is this...If you're a cheater, you're a cheater. You cheated their system, they can ban your account just for that. Is it good business? No, but that doesn't mean they can't. What are you going to sue Trion for? $50? You really think the court system is going to give the slightest care about you being banned from a game for cheating and then Trion banning the rest of your accounts? I'd love to hear you explain to a judge that your other accounts shouldn't have been banned because you didn't bot on them. I used to work for eBay in their fraud prevention department. You know what the first thing we did when we found someone cheating the system? We banned every account that person had, whether it was used to cheat the system or not. And guess what? We had every right to. Trion can do the same thing with your accounts at any time.
Ok, good for you and your Ebay experience. What does that have to do with protecting your account? So, lets say that what i am saying comes to pass. seperating an account not botting into a seperate directory saves it. Are you personally going to give everyone that you told NOT to do it their money for loss? No... of course not. It is irresponsible to not say "Do everything you can" it wont hurt anything
Maybe you should go back and read what I wrote. I never said anywhere that one should not protect their account. If you can point out somewhere I did, lemme know. Here's another fact for you. Trion's never going to tell what information they used to tie your accounts together. Even if you take 3 measures to protect your account when you login, who's to say that trion doesn't already have 6 other ways on top of what you have done to tie your accounts together? Of course you should do everything you can to protect your account. If you think that for some reason that using two different installations of the game on your pc will protect you, go for it. If you think wearing a tin-foil cap will protect you from aliens reading your brainwaves, by all means, do that, too.
No worries mate. Obviously at no point will i have anything to offer this forum. Its cool. Ill just use the bot i paid for and ignore the rest. You win.
