Hey guys, just had two botting accounts banned on Friday, attempted ticket appeal and were both denied - "confirmed our previous findings" etc. Then on Saturday my main account was banned for "being associated with known botting accounts". I had sent items to my main account in the mail, which in retrospect was pretty dumb, but how is getting mail from guildies against the ToS? Do the police arrest people because they know thieves or drug dealers? I don't mind losing the botting accounts but the other is my main account with over 8000 hours and a few thousand dollars spent. Other than the mail fiasco, I have never done anthing to jeopardise it. In my ticket to Blizz I made up a story about how my brother used my other accoutns for botting without telling me and that I had no knowledge and he never used my main. Was this maybe a bad idea? Questionaire for the two botting accounts: You need to register and have one post to see spoilers! My ticket to Blizz for my Main: You need to register and have one post to see spoilers! Their response: You need to register and have one post to see spoilers! A followup ticket from me: You need to register and have one post to see spoilers! As you can see, I tried to make this appear as an angry individual who is clearly confused and upset about being banned for association with what has happened. Any advice guys? Thank you.
Yea, this sucks. Sorry you lost your accounts. In reading your responses to Blizz, you admitted guilt x 2. Sharing an account with your brother is against ToS, plus the admission to your brother's botting. You are responsible for what happens on your accounts, now Blizz has you admitting in writing that you broke the rules. It's just best to plead absolute ignorance. For future reference just tell them that you know nothing about nothing. You can just keep saying that the situation is very baffling. The longer explanations just tend to weave a story that can be broken down or just flat out rejected. The other thing is - be nice. Anger will just get you pushed to the side. I call/e-mail & you seem to be very nice in spite of the situation, people are more willing to help.
Ok thanks for the reply, I guess my idea was to generate plausibility rather than just flat out deny it and seem a liar. I still said nothing illegal happened on the main account. Any thoughts about where to go from here in getting my main back? If I call them I obviously can't feign ignorance now. Any ideas are appreciated.
Using that kind of language will not make them reconsider. I mean; just imagine you working somewhere and some customer coming up to you and starts flinging "bullshit" and "overzealous" in your face, then calling you "ludicrous". Would you help him? I'd kindly tell him to take his swearing elsewhere and then call security. Demanding a formal apology is pushing it even further. You're not going to get your account back with actions like that. The only thing you'll get is someone on the other side laughing his ass off whilst telling you you're screwed. What you want is immaterial; Blizz has every right to ban you (and in this case even more since you actually did commit the offense they're saying you did).
In other words, if you're sending CODs to another account (a random person) they might get banned? What kind of logic is that?
Yeah, sounds like you can get someone you don't like banned by sending them hundreds of mails and getting your account flagged for obvious botting. Might try this in future on AH competition. Jk
Interesting, and frustrating for you of cause. I have multiple botting accounts and I frequently send goods to my main (non botted accounts) via mail. I've had numerous botting accounts banned but never a non botted account "by association". Sorry for your loss, but personally I would continue with you petitioning to have your account restored.
Thanks Fpsware, When I call them, just play dumb? And if they mention my idioic story about brother botting on other accounts?
This doesn't always work because Blizzard will investigate your account and check your IP's of who accessed your account
