Hello there I am aware that VMware is not officialy supported by Bossland. Although, I already succesfuly made my virtual honnorbuddy workspace. The problem is lack of my knowledge regarding host and virtual machine memory sharing. When i run VMware with running honnorbuddy, is it possible to get banned on my host Windows by signature scanning? I mean is it possible to find in host memory that honnorbuddy is running (no matter if VMware). Is this memory provided for VMware is encrypted or by any means unobtainable to scan in host machine? I hope i find someone with that knowledge to give answers. Thanks in advance for you help.
You run HB and WoW at the same level so yes it is possible. Everything inside the vmware can be scanned but normally nothing outside. So if your vmware is using a different IP and is running hb you should be able to run another wow outside the vmware and there should not be any connection in between them. A VMware is like a sandbox so meaning normally a process inside cannot scan things outside. This is technically not 100% but for hb it is correct.
A virtual machine is independent of the rest of the computer. So the system would not be able to access things across the virtual machines. However in the virtual machine you are running a wow and a honorbuddy instance. So they may be detected. But they will not necessarily detect the other virtual machines as they are separated. So the chance of them detecting all the instances are minimized. There is though the issue of IP address. If the VM is set to direct bridging they share a IP address with the host. So when they scan IPs they may still detect multiple instances on one IP address. So you should instead make sure you use NAT translation. Then it will seem like different computers in the same sub net. Then it could be neighbors playing or something like that. I hope this answers your question...
Well thank you so much guys. progsper, i didnt know about this IP issue and im sure i have set up direct bridging. To other future readers, I opened cheat engine in both vmware and host system and tried to scan pattern of array bytes. Generally the same bytes couldnt be found in host.
to be honest I have stopped playing before new ban wave came. As i can see they ban you by detect certain hooks not memory pattern. So it doesnt matter whether its vmware, separate PC. I suggest do as much you can now until next ban wave.
