So this was a weird Suspension, I got 2 emails in the exact same minute. So I'm wondering if someone reported my name and my account was looked into.. or, if someone reported me for botting and my account was looked into. Interesting. The first one was for an Inappropriate name: --------------------------------------------------------- Account Action: Warning Offense: Naming Policy Violation - Inappropriate This category includes both clear and masked names which: * Are mildly inappropriate references to human anatomy or bodily functions * Are references to illegal drugs or activities * Have neutral or positive racial/ethnic/national connotations * Have any connotations of major religions or religious figures (i.e. Jesus, Christianity, Buddha) * Include names of World of Warcraft realms, zones, or names of major characters from Warcraft lore * Are otherwise considered inappropriate for the game world ------------------------------------------------------------ The second was for third party software: ------------------------------------------------------------ Account Action: 48 Hour Suspension Offense: Unapproved Third Party Software A third party program is any file or program that is not a part of the World of Warcraft software, but is used to gain an advantage in the game, such as increasing your movement speed or teleporting from one place to another beyond what is allowed by game design. It also includes any programs that obtain information from the game that is not normally available to the regular player or that transmit or modify any of the game files. Normally, this classification does not include UI modifications, except those UIs that require an external application to function. Any external applications that are used in conjunction with World of Warcraft can cause quite a few unwanted side effects. Some of the major possible results of the use of third party programs can be instability of the game to the point that a player "crashes" from the game quite often. External programs can also be used to transmit viruses, spyware, and other unwanted programs into a player's computer. Third party programs can also be used to obtain information from the player's computer, such as account, password, and personal information. ------------------------------------------------------------ 1)Were you using Honorbuddy, Gatherbuddy or both on the account? Honorbuddy 2)If so, when was the last time?: Yesterday 3)What profile were you using?: I was doing Random BG's 4)What combat class were you using? if None Just put Default then the Classname: Default Warrior 5)What plugins are you using?: None really, besides default 6)How many hours per day did you bot for?: Sometimes 12 hrs+ a day, I was being reckless. 6.5)What honest percentage of time did you supervise your bot? 25% 7)How many auctions per day did you have?: None 8)Did you Use Any Other Bots, Hacks, or Mods? No 9)Was your account involved in gold selling? No 10)EU or US realm? US
Well, any offense, like an inappropriate name, is bound to draw unwanted attention. Once they started looking into that, it was a matter of time before they saw your inhuman amounts of time in BGs......
Chances are, the GM looked into your account and then sent the warning e-mail prematurely, then after looking at it more, decided to give you a suspension. really its only a temp so just lay low, and try not to keep drawing attention to your self.
You'd be surprised. When I first started botting I made the mistake to send gold from my main account to my bot account for flying training and stuff, which got the receiving one banned for allegedly being involved in gold selling/buying. The account was mid 80s, had been leveling non stop and probably on for 90% of the 4 days before that, yet when I ticketed the GM was, in his own words "happy to reverse it". I think they just resolve the issue at hand. I doubt that if you get reported for your name they're gonna start following you to see if you bot. I think it was backwards. You got reported for botting on the character and when they looked into it they noticed the inapprorpiate name. My 2 cents.
