Well it finally happened... Banned. Edit: Convinced Blizz to Reopen Account!

So for the first time since 2011, I got a perma ban on my "botting account." I lost two lvl 90s and about 5k, that's all. I shouldn't complain, I've botted more than 25 characters from 1-90 and have made probably close to 700-800k gold. Currently, I have a guild bank with over 100k gold in it and characters from multiple accounts in the guild, so I still have access to gold and stuff from my main account. I'm curious though... maybe I could appeal and ask for a lesser sentence? Maybe a suspension instead of Account Closure? That seems to be happening a lot lately.

After being banned, I honestly don't even feel like playing WoW anymore - with or without honorbuddy. I thought of cancelling my subscription on my main account and filling out the survey saying, "My second account was banned and I just don't feel like playing anymore. This ban has set me back a lot of money and I don't feel loyal to a company that refuses to give second chances." <--- not that it would do anything.

When you appeal, never ever mention you already own another account. Its always worth to fight a ban, even with simple or stupid reason, if the ban is overtunable and you get on a nice GM, they will reverse it, if they dont, just keep it up till you find nicer GM ;)

Just a short example: One of my bots was permabanned last week, and I initiated Live Chat, but got timed out and chat window closed before the GM finished the investigation, so I opened new Live Chat, and just when new GM joined the chat window, I read the answer of the first GM - He denied the appeal .... but the new GM was nice enough so overtuned the ban, and even gave me 10 days of gametime, because the ban was already 12 days old :)

I went ahead and filled out an appeal and sent it to Blizzard late last night and I received an email this afternoon with their decision. They have overturned the account closure and, instead, given a 72 hour suspension. Interesting, eh?

Exactly. That's basically what I did. I asked for an alternate punishment. I ended with, "Does Blizzard not believe in a second chance?" Going forward, I simply will not bot from that account.
