What's up with extreme heirloom prices?

I mean wow 3500 JP for the feral druid 2hander? I made a druid to bot with HB 2 days ago and got the PVP shoulders from WG and decided just now to spend my 2300 JP on the chest instead of saving up for the weapon.
I farmed heroics like crazy but with only 16 JP each boss it's fucking unbelievable they're asking 3500 for such a simple item. Before 4.0.1 the weapon was 75 emblems if I recall correctly? You needed to kill 75 bosses for that minus 2 emblems for the random dungeon every 3 or so bosses which leaves you around 45 heroic dungeon boss kills to get the required emblems (if it did indeed cost 75 emblems, I'm sorry I can't remember correctly).

Now you would have to get a stunning 3500/16 = 218 boss kills to get just that same item???

 

its to reflect the JP in cata, u will get more for each boss kill

They upped the prices after 4.0 because they didn't want people using all their left over JP(above the cap that will be allowed to carry into Cata) to purchase them and stock up.

 

Oh well i'll have to level *ugh* bot my druid to 80 with weapons from the AH then T_T
