Hello, I start to bot an old char which hast Mining and Jewelcrafting at 450. Now I`m just wondering what is better to farm gold. Mining and herbalism or mining and jewelcrafting. Jewelcrafting is already skilled to 450, but to skill herbalism to 450 is only 2 days of work. The prices for herbs and gems are both very high at my server e.g. twilight jasmine 220g/Stack. Somebody have experience with jewelcrafting and making gold? how much gold is possible to earn per day? with mining and herbalism its about 10-15k a day. thanks for help
JC is bad for making gold, at least on my server. Could earn quite a lot from prospecting ores and cutting gems right after Cata hit, though, but not any more. Probly because it has the best profession bonuses for every class and role in the game, so everyone has it on their main. I'd have one char with herbing and mining, and another with JC and alchemy or another crafting profession. If you don't want that, than just ditch jc and have mining/herbing anyway.
the thing about it is if you mine alot you increase your profits from mining by using JC to cut uncommon gems is a 4g per gem increase. just that alone over the long haul is very useful but if you only have 1 toon at your disposal dropping JC for herbalism would be more profitable imo. I would suggest making a Deathknight and leveling him up to 75 and making him a JC and Scribe so that you can maximize your profits.
JC is best for gold i use Killertypos - Mt Hyjal herbmine.xml for collecting obsidium ore, i then prospect it and make gems, i then vendor the jems for 9g each rather than use the AH a you may not even sell any there. i got [Gatherbuddy v2.0.0.587]:Stopped gatherbuddy after gathering 204 nodes in 2h 46m 16s. thats over 600 obsidium ore which converts into 150 jems @ 9g a pop 1350g in just 3 hrs. so i get 450g an hour not including the volatile earth that i can get and always sell in th AH. i will also get other jems that i can make fist weapons with. it all adds up
