OldRoutine does work with totems in a basic way still. Have it on your skill bar, assign non-totem skills to your Skill Slots (aka the spam slots), and lower the TotemDelayMs from 5000 to something like 1000.

If you have some specialized Ancestral Bond build, OldRoutine won't work great for you, but that's always been the case. OldRoutine caters to the most common skill mechanic, which in Path of Exile are skills you spam, and for 3.0, are skills with AoE effects, since that's the direction the game went.

While a new revamped routine system will be underway in the near future, user combat routines have always been a main driver of combat in Exilebuddy, as there's been no way to support all builds in a nice way. You say totems should be made the main focus and provided a good routine, someone else says some other skill group like minions, and someone else says another like effect synergy (chaos or fire skill groups for example) .

We try to cover as much as possible with the setup, and leave the rest to users if they want something better. What we do need to improve though, and what we will, is making it so its easier for users to actually work with routines rather than having to deal with the giant implementation seen in OldRoutine. We have a good plan for that, but it wasn't possible to make it happen before 3.0.
