Hi why is Honorbuddy well and Buddywing not , I do not know ? ok I know no other SWTOR Bots but play it so many Swtor as must the offered yet be well . How do you like the bot ?
I like both HB and BW. I presume that the reason why they are so different is because WOW and SWTOR is probably equally made (code/technics etc) different - which maybe makes it easier to code alot of tools in to HB than into BW. Or perharps because they are not created by the same programmers, and maybe alot more manhours has been used in making HB? Which could be because the market for a WOW Bot is/was large than a Bot for SWTOR. These are all just my guesses ... Have no basis in any facts
Michael sort of hit on it: 1. SWTOR has terrible coding-- Walter called it "spaghetti code". This makes it hard to code even a simple rotation or profile, because character values are switched around and moved without warning 2. SWTOR has a smaller following. This means that there are fewer potential players who want to bot, there are fewer people who want to code free profiles for the community, and there are fewer people willing to pay to get the bot more support. 1 and 2 kind of create this loop where the bot doesn't get support because it's hard to code for and has low demand. They actually shut down Buddywing for a while, but the community begged them to bring it back in its current low-support state. This is the best we'll get from the HB staff; if we want the bot to get better, it'll take the community creating and sharing good profiles, plugins, and routines. It's frustrating work unfortunately.
This should put a big Warning Sign before you hit the buy button. I still have no use for BW When my subs expires it will be the end,
If you got problems, please create a post with logs so people can help. Also its wise to contact support via email to ask for refund if you really cant get it to work.
Personally, I use the DefaultCombat routine and Combat_profile (I drive, it kills). Works really well for me. A few of the Makeb routines still work well, if you follow directions for starting the bot. Its not perfect, but with as few players as there are - ive never seen more than 200 online - I think we are lucky we have ANY support. I am satisfied as well, that when I have issues, the community is pretty quick to help with positive suggestions (Assuming I didnt post a stupid ass question that has been asked 20000 times already...)
