First off, I would like to say I am a fairly veteran botter that just recently came back for WoW's new expansion. I rarely have any problems and I almost never have had issues where I have been banned other than mass bans targeted at specific functions that a bot has used. With that being said, I ran into a situation today that I would like to share in order to receive any opinions on the matter. Currently I have 3 accounts being botted (usually only 2 active at once while I play on the 3rd). I tend to swap characters when I either go to bed or whenever I feel that I reach a certain time played on a specific character. I also give the accounts time logged out hopefully to avoid an automatic flag in the system while I am not actively playing. The situation occurred while using a profile to farm a trinket in Nagrand on one of my accounts. A player came up to my character, had me killed, and started whispering me about being a bot while further threatening and stating that he had opened a ticket and reported my character "multiple times". Since I was actively playing on my other account, I quickly responded within the minute in order to make it seem that I was less likely to be a bot. In the end, I actually had opened a ticket regarding my encounter with this person to both report harassment as well as to discuss my "concerns". Ticket is as follows: Recently while farming a trinket (which is said to drop where I am currently at), I received a whisper that contained a very vulgar statement and accusation towards me. The guy ended up getting me killed by pulling a bunch of mobs when I had a divine storm proc (100 percent increased radius and dmg) and then aggroed them all onto me. He had then whispered me accusing me of botting and stating he had people open multiple tickets to report me and get me banned. Overall, im not too worried about one report but if someone had an entire guild report me, will there at least be an investigation that will allow myself to prove otherwise? I am very into this game and I do not wish to be banned on a false accusation just because the guy had his guild completely report me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, what I am looking specifically in regards to feedback is the following: - Should I be careful and take a break on ALL of my accounts or will Blizzard even look into the IP? - Will Blizzard care about 1 person's accusation? - Was I wrong to submit a ticket stated above? - Is there really any evidence without them investigating my future actions? and finally: - Are there any precautions I should take just in case? (This would be the first time offense on these accounts) I will be taking a trip for the next 4-5 days so I will not be botting anyways but any information or experience is appreciated when giving feedback. Sorry if this is the wrong area or if this is a stupid post, I just thought I would check in with the community about this situation to gain more insight. Thanks
From my knowledge the only feedback i can give is this. It's all about to the GM who will investigate your case. The appeal you made was the right choice for me, and i would do the same if i was in your place. So it all comes to how deep the GM will investigate. On a first look this case seems like many other tickets GMs receive. Players accusing other people for boting on numerous occassions even when there are not even botting. Just bacause u are farmign something smn else needs and satying online for many hours. I ve seen it happening many times. Staying low for a while until you get ans answer back for your ticket would be the best choice. I will also reccomend to try minimise the botting in WOD areas. You propably are aware of this already though.
