Thats something different then, because hes not even selling them at a normal price. 200 auctions should be around 5 hours of farming, which is POSSIBLE without botting.
It has to be the auctions because I was banned for economy abuse and I didnt sell any gold so obviously it was the auctions I had posted. This has never been a problem with me I always post up to 20 stacks of the same items and have been botting for years like that. Maybe blizzard is taking investigation on players who have x amount of auctions x amount of times a day. They can easily automate this then look further into the accounts where someone farming that many items would be insane... Im trying to multi bot so finding private buyers or leveling up an alt to get professions up really is a large amount of time that I dont have. I guess the only option here is to make multiple bank alts to post auctions. This seems the best way and most time efficient
Honestly you may have just been reported by your competition in the AH. They may have taken a look at how many accounts you have/had going at the same time, which zones, what auctions you are posting and could just tell you were botting. Even if they couldn't *prove* it. Not sure though.
Like someone said Abuse of the economy can mean anything, i just think because they cant track the bot through the warden or whatever they just look for any excuse.
Probably? Sorry for your loss. But 200auctions per day?? didnt you create like 8 ah alts and delete them every week? it seems to me that you got what you asked for. Better next time to fast level 2-3 to 85 alts just for mining and herbing and let that poor main rest a bit. I mean 15+h botting every day, damn. Should report you for abusing your chars 2.
I don't think the amount of time he was botting is the issue. Plenty of people on this site bot for 20-24 hrs a day including me with no issues.
No blizzard won't check, but that other botter who is tired of the obvious will just report you. I know you guys hate to hear but I bet 8/10 times it's another botter reporting you. Though sometimes it is the bots fault. Last GB2 on druid wouldn't herb when monster was near. Kept bouncing up and down and eventually died. A real player was herbing and turned me in... if u do 200 auctions (or 5k - Nesox u rock) a day how many toons u have doing them? one toon does all the auctions? if u use auctioneer why would u not have 10 toons doing the auctions.. it does not take that much time to run the quick scan and post at matching competion or 1% under
Do well over 2k daily myself. I've never had a problem, I don't udnercut by insane amounts, I don't flood the market with 300 stacks of obsidium or something at a time. AH = does not cause ban, nuless you list Roasted Quail for liek 19k buyout. Expect to be investigated then...
I am sorry for your loss, but to complain that you cannot afford the losses of being banned, then maybe you should not be botting. At least not "grind" botting for 10-15 hours a day on the same profile. The things that get people caught from botting the most is not looking "human". If you bot 2 to 3 hours in one location, move to another and bot there for 2 to 3 hours, then move back for another 2 to 3 hours is more like it. Most people can't stomach going in a small circle killing the same things over and over for too much longer than 2 to 3 hours. Maybe the occasional one day of 10 hours of doing this. I would have to agree with the statement about greed being the biggest culprit with a majority of the bans. Just looking in this forum section daily and you see almost the same story over and over. Even worse with the ones losing >2 account (I believe there is even one posting for 16 accounts). All of them seem to be using Honorbuddy/Gatherbuddy to make money. I believe that HB/GB should probably put a time limit in a month period for casual use and the ones going over that to pay a fee since they are obviously using it strictly as a money making scheme. I know this statement here will probably get quite a bit of negative feedback, but it is all about moderation. People using GB for extended hours, complaining/reporting other GB people who ninja loot "their" herbs/ore/or whatever... You can just go to one spot and count the botters. I find it amusing sometimes watching 3 and 4 bots drop off their flying mounts on top of the same node all because they got "synched up" using the exact same profile. Also, please note that Blizzard did just make that announcement of attempting to be more proactive against afk botting when you bot now.
is there any way I could possibly get these accounts back? I was banned for economy exploit when all i did was post 100 auctions... how would I go about getting my accounts back if anyone has done this?
My strategy has been: 20 auctions of each product at a time, except for volatile life (50+ auctions, stacks of 10)..... so far never been banned. botting 24/7 wether connection allows me.
sent blizzard an email explaining that i never sold gold and that I had no reason to be banned... ill post the outcome later
If people want to bot 24/7 and post 10k auctions thats their choice, don't think anyone needs to make those choices for others. I am kinda glad I err on the side of caution when I read about bans like this; I'd like to make gold faster but just like OP I cant really afford to lose cata accts - I still might one day, however. There's a guy on MMOwned who offers a letter writing service & seems to have a nice success rate. BUT he wants payment in advance ($20 or something) and has no guarantees so idk if u want to gamble.
