Every account can be linked, no matter what. Its all about whether they choose to link them or not.

Yes, but the thing is, dont just copy+pasta it. I had to cut the wow folder, put it in a removable disk, install wow fresh with all patched up and then rename the new wow folder for your bot, then paste back the old wow folder...

Now I am even more paranoid :(

I know you cant risk what you cannot afford to lose, those are fresh accounts, but all the wows expansions make it a costly hobby and I am yet to see any ROI

Separate WoW install folders protects you from nothing, zero, nada.

They don't care about your install location, name of folder, they care about the UID on the account, thats it.

Ski is right, if they want to trace back all the stuff a single toon has done, they can. Traded what to who, sold what on the AH, etc. How do you think they do restorations or even track all the little achievement stuff.

They store it all, so laundering it through multiple accounts to your main may seem like a smart idea (and one I follow as well), but in the end, you are just risking further accounts going bye-bye if this how they want to start doing bans.

anyone should know the cost of using a bot? from what i've read it isn't the bot that got banned for we all would be banned? just try to make some profiles where people usually don't go. leveling a pally atm and currently at level 56, started 3 days go and the profile i used i don't see another toon in sight while i check up.

      Haha the ip-discussion again.
When will this end? Also popped up in the glider forums ever few weeks. ;)

You will never recieve bans ip-based. Never. In some countries there are isps who are using private ips for their customers and they just NAT them in their "data center". Which means many customers have the same IPs. And ofc there are the common examples like schools, universitys, companys, hotels, restaurants, internet caf?s, big families (brother mother father, all playing wow), people who are using the same proxy, etc.

the seperate wow folders thing is actually the data inside the cache folder, this is where information on your recent item deletion/gold trading shows up

Anyway, just a quick update, after corresponding with them a bunch regarding it they kept telling me no. Well, yesterday I was logging on wow and because of muscle memory i accidentally typed in this account info and it worked. I never received any email confirming it being unbanned.

Thats great that you got your account back, please keep us posted if anything further happens to the account, this is interesting.

P.S I'd lay low botting or any against ToA since you got lucky this time.

Sorry to necro this thread but I just got this same ban today and I don't think that the "Association to Exploitative Accounts" necessarily means that it is related to your other accounts.

I think this ban can also come as a result of selling to gold sites.

I've sold hundreds of thousands of gold off of said account and finally received the "Association to Exploitative Accounts" ban.

My other accounts a running strong for now.

Yeah I had one of my farmers banned for association, on the same .net with my other farmer accounts but they're fine. Sold 400k+ gold, it came from the farmers guild bank..
