currently run my Intel I7 2600k on 4.7 ghz with just on air, where it's 30 C's on full load. so O might gonna try higher to 5.0 ghz.

so my vote goes out to intel!

why is there so much trolling in this thread, lock that dude out of it. Bishop provides overwhelming amount of factual info... where as whats his name? oh yea who cares... says ??? oh yea i forgot already... Intel has stepped there game up so much in the past oh 5 years? back when it was x2's vs core2duo i prolly would have said AMD bang for buck... Currently though intels chips are so cheap its embarrassing people still say AMD bang for buck... with, not even to mention the 2nd gen sandy bridges hitting clocks at half the temps as a i7 950...
That and with the sandy bridge chips u can toss in a w/e single or dual core step under the i3 for dirt cheap on a system, that will handle the i7 sandies... wait a bit price drop... buy one of those toss it in for cheap and have a machine that will fuck ur wife, blow u, kick ur dogs ass when it shits on the carpet... bot, and .... tickle your fancy...

I am not even gonna argue much of a point in this Bishop did, and supplied all the research, problem is as he says, people will be unwilling to accept the truth... I as well as him agree AMD was where my loyalty was... but there heads got to big they quit making what made them so famous and let there shit go... like a pregnant woman who dont work out after having a baby... u want to see that naked... dont mean u didnt love her before.... but i mean....

AMD was strong and the one and only gamer choice...back in the days.

Today Intel has the first place and their Sandybridge architecture just rocks.
Upgraded to a i5-2500k a few weeks ago, runs air-cooled at 5Ghz up from 3,33Ghz stock thats just amazing. All that just for 150€.

      So i'd say:

If you want a gaming rig just to play right now and want to spend less money as possible -> AMD
If you want a gaming rig that has more power than you need to be safe for the future and do not care about each $ / € then there's only one way: INTEL

But let's see what the Bulldozer got...perhaps AMD is able to get back to where they have been a long time ago.
