How do you know that that isn't exactly what they do?

Here's a tinfoil hat idea for you that has actually been proposed by the HB staff itself (I believe it was actually Hawker or Bossland himself):

Blizzard has never been complete or even thorough with their bans. Although they do hit a high percentage of botting accounts, they come nowhere close to catching the entire botting community at any given time. It's very possible that Blizz picks and chooses or runs a script similar to what you proposed in your reply that randomizes the bans. It's a very efficient way to rile up the HB community, makes people quit, wastes developer time trying to figure out why some accounts were missed, make Blizzard look smarter than they probably are and keeps everyone guessing except Blizzard themselves to how their practices work.

So yes, it very well may be dumb, blind luck that saves some accounts and not others.

All I can say is that 3 of my 5 current accounts were caught and banned, 2 others were missed. 1 of the accounts that was spared was doing the EXACT SAME activity, using the EXACT SAME profile, using the EXACT SAME HB key, in the EXACT SAME guild on the EXACT SAME battle.net account, using the EXACT SAME computer on the EXACT SAME internet connection that 2 of the 3 accounts were running. That account just so happens to be my main account that has dodged banwaves every time they've occurred.

If there isn't some element of luck to it, I'd sure love for you to point out what exactly caused them to miss my main while killing my bots that were doing the same activity as the others.

 

I'm assuming they pick and choose who to run maybe sections of the world who freaken cares all I know is that they have to run outside wow files to find HB installed on your pc. I had one account never botted on banned today only tells me they are scanning your whole system to find where HB is at and if they spot it they shut you down period.

 

No, you don't know that. You have a theory that they do what you're claiming, but you don't know that.

If you did know that, you should provide hard evidence that they are doing what you claim they are doing, give it to the HB developers and then sue Blizzard, as it would be illegal for them to perform such scans.

Just because you don't understand how you are getting caught, it doesn't mean that Blizz is doing anything illegal to catch you.

 

This is so untrue. HB HAS to attach itself to the process. There is no option. You can't bot otherwise....

I wouldn't be here if I wasn't a fan of HB.

At the same time, if you think I'm some kind of "white knight" for HB, you haven't really read many of my replies.

I got lucky. I was banned on another account a couple of months ago and stopped completely. I only logged in to another account today to make sure my guild bank gold was still there and was going to bot for a little bit with a cr.. came to HB to download the newest version and BAM!... nothing but ban threads from like 20 minutes on.

 

1 of 5 accounts survived. 2 got 6months, 2 got 18months (already been hit in last year may banwave)

1: yes, hbrelog (what else)
2: no
3: too short on the specific account, started botting on it 3 hours before banwave
4: only singular

 

Not true. My main account has never been botted on and never been banned. Other than abusing the economy with my thousands of AH listings.

 

im not banned yet. i started botting again 2 days ago. i only used kicks profiles and botted for like 3-4 hours combined over those 2 days.

3) Bonus question, why do you think you didn't get banned?

Probably down to luck. I botted daily, on three accounts. Mostly herb / mining in Tanaan, garrison and levelling. All 3 accounts so far, are alive.

 

I survived the banwave but mainly because I have not been running HB for the last month.
