      ...

I can't help but feel really uneasy about this fight.

My older sibling that attends University of Texas (majoring at law) confronted me about this at one point.

Depending on the legislature of German laws (especially how other 'bot companies' were already shut down prior from this case against HB), the case in winning this fight are very slim.

At the same time, really, the side with the bigger money usually wins. (Great example would be GeoHot vs. Sony to patent Jailbreak to allow homebrew to the PS3).

      Regardless, fight well mate!

I would assume the other companies just agreed to shutdown in return for a sum of cash. Buddy team will fight, and with german laws i dont think chances are that bad

yep thats true for the USA but not here in Germany ;)
And GeoHot vs. Sony was a bit diff.

Actually those companies were not shut down because law forced them to do but because they didnt want to go to court and fight against Blizzard. The small ones because it was too expensive and Pirox because he is just a looser.
I think with german law we are standing a fair chance of winning. Also if Bossland hadn't seen a cance of winning he wouldnt have started such an expensive fight

I think the best thing you shouldl note is what Blizz is actually suing them for.

      1. Copyright.
      2. Trademark
      3. Inducing Breach of Contract

The best part is even if the lose they still win because they will be able to make changes that will put them into compliance with the court orders.

I think people are getting ahead of themselves. Just because Honorbuddy is based in Germany and it falls under German law does not really make any difference. Those people who are saying hahaha blizzard are so screw because HB is German law and because of that HB will win. Wrong.
I understand we all want HB to win this fight but as many people have said before me, the chances are slim and it's nice to see HB showing some balls. I really believe HB are just stalling the inevitable.

Wont happen, IF the loose this case they will go to a higher court, same if they win... i dont think blizzard will stop either it will end up in the highest power court either way. But for it to get to the highest power court it will take atleast a year, probably 2-3

Everyone cares about money but hopefully the LAW dictates what happens there and I hope your lawyers/justice system continues to stand by that and not give in to the bigger companys.

      +Microsoft

Tried to forbid a shop owner to sell OEM-Software without the linked Computers.
Well, they lost at the court, of course.

Thats what i like to hear! :D

If you win this though, can blizzard take it one step further? like go to the next court? or do they have to back down?

They can , like us, go to the next higher court.
