I will laugh so hard if blizzard spends months trying to shut down Bossland GMBH by spending countless hours making a humungous report and putting heaps of time and effort into it and then german law are just like, "Nah, piss off"

      Ahhhaa! fuck blizzard!

I hope the money hungry arseholes read this!

They wont win, and even if they do another bot will be put in in weeks if not days so it will just be swings and round abouts.

When you think about it, Blizz is spending a drop in their bucket in the attempt to shutdown HB. Think of how much is brought in monthly due to the millions of subscribers and how much it cost them to pay the lawyers to put the suit together. I honestly don't even think they are even severely concerned if they win - they are much more concerned that the millions of sheep...err... OTHER subscribers (other than US) THINK that they are being proactive to get rid of those 'nasty botters' by going after the source.

If they seriously wanted to get rid of many more botters, they easily could... and if you think about it, you probably could figure out several ways... I know I could. I am also absolutely sure that they could too... but don't really want to eliminate the majority of us that very quietly bot 'under the radar' - without causing people to report us. Once someone reports us then they have to take their head out of the sand and do something about that person that was reported.

But in the long run, I think they really want the majority of the money we pay monthly for our accounts, they just don't want to admit it.

If all else fails do what Macroquest did vs Everquest. Go open source and don't allow any compiles just update the code and provide the source releases. It might suck for business but it will keep the project alive and donations aren't that bad...just my $0.02

Macroquest2 is still alive today and more powerful than ever......Sony can't do a thing about it either.

well honor-buddy is already well known among the botting community, therefore if the do go open source I believe they could still stay alive though donations.

honestly you think bossland would do that .. i think not.. i mean he would keep it alive for him and his close friends.. why give your knowledge away for free? give donations to whom? the 1000 people that will make it their own or call it their own and try to sell it.. go look at wow private servers. devs fighting/people charge bundles for gear/levels, etc. open source = no no

Piroxbots.com just announced that their bot will stop working 25. January 2012.

"PiroxBots has been legally prohibited from offering programs for World of Warcraft
and is therefore no longer available due to legal reasons.
Support for existing packages will cease on January 25, 2012.

After that time PiroxBots does not exist anymore!

Thank you for your understanding and your confidence you've shown us in the last years. "

Pirox is not on the same level as HB.
      They run a shady business.

I think blizzard are just trying to use a scare tactic with people that sell bots, i think they underestimate how much money and support bossland has behind him.

it depends on the country and its protection of digital intellectual property. the users are violating their agreements with Blizz, which is really just a breach of contract (in the US) and not "illegal." and in some countries setting up a system, or profiting from a system that was built to assist people in breaching contracts or breaking laws will be illegal.

It's promoting breaking the rules. Not sure if that's against the ToS, but I'm sure that's one of their cases.
