the point was to take my folders and run wow off a second computer. like if i went to my buddies house, i could bot for a bit on a different machine id. or take the folders and run them off my wifes comp across the room. either case, i wouldnt leave botting files on anyones computer. they would be portable.

but yeah, loaded wow on the flashdrive, runs too slow to show all the textures when using the mailbox. ill try running off the 3.0 external hd later.

I can see HBRelog and ARelog being an issue since the directories of WoW, Honorbuddy, and profiles would alternate. I'm sure there's a way around this to run it as *\Honorbuddy or *\World of Warcraft, but not sure how.

i have wow and HB on a flash drive for when i'm out of town, it works pretty well just make sure you have a flash drive with good read and write speed, not some of the cheaps ones that are high read spead and low write spead

There's also "usb" flash drive that connects by esata as well as usb. If you have the esata port you can use the faster interface. Not sure they still make these or not - but they are/were pretty fast.

as long as your not running 100 sessions off that usb drive i dont see how the reading and writing would be an issue. however no ones going to be able to tell you for sure unless you try it.
