when i picked my parts, i wanted something thats going to last a while, ive been using my AMD Athlon 64 x2 4400+ for the since 2006 and its still working well today, but when i built it i knew that the 939 socket would last a while, and if i needed to upgrade again i could, same with this new build, if i need to upgrade to a 6 core i can, if i wanna toss down $200 on a video card i can, and i can toss in another 4gb of ram without issues.

really when builing a PC, set your budget, and build, try to plan for the future if you dont have the budget you need, and do what you can with what you have, if you already have a monitor, then you dont need to buy one, if you have a 500gb harddrive in the PC your replacing, you can use that, but as far as peripherals and harddrives DVD drives. i wouldnt move much else over.

sorry i know it can all seem confusing.
i recommended you give this a read. Build the Best Gaming PC for Any Budget - How To by ExtremeTech

keep in mind that all these builds dont include an operating system.. if you have Windows XP 32 bit right now, all these systems with more than ~3GB ram are overkill.. if you have a 64bit version of windows 7/xp/vista then you're ok...

Never had any problems thus far but I use a program that completely removes "WAT" from the pc entirely as u can see in the pic and I still get all the updates as anyone would.
This ones on my laptop it doesn't support 64bit sadly

i can tell you from first hand experience, that 99.9% of ppl who pirate an OS cause more headaches than they solve. I have been owner of a computer shop for the last 10 years.. i've seen what your average user does to his/her computer. You are clearly a bit more computer literate than the OP. (no offense intended to the OP)

Well I've noticed alot of people when you pirate an os try to find a pre-*****ed copy in which I'm sure you know people add their own code etc to and most contain a keylogger or other means of sending the info back to them of everything they do. I on the other hand purchased Win 7 ultimate an do a fresh install of the os minus the activation code and when finished just completely remove the "WAT" protection making this version completely unofficially 100%legit as I can instal and have installed every update currently out. Another thing most pirated os's do is they will not allow you to get updates which is very unsafe.

      "Feature list:
Requires no additional processes running after patching
Has a theoretical 100% success rate due to it being hardware independent
Effeciently coded with safety checks to prevent damage to a Windows installation
      Uninstall option
Complete removal of all genuine related elements visible to the user, whilst keeping the core activation system active, allowing you to pass various genuine checks without issue
Progress bar to allow overview of completion time
A completley safe solution with zero risk of bricking your bootsector or rendering your pc unbootable."

:) Remove "WAT" ftw 100% success rate for me on over 20 installs lol

I lol'd, then lol'd some more than I could not stop myself so I lol'd.

You sir should not be advising ANYONE about computer hardware. 6 cores does not mean in any way shape or form you get 6x 3.2GHz.

Given there is a program that would happen to use 6 cores at maximum usage theoretically it could push 19.2 ghz. I didn't mean thats what you would be getting 24/7 Especially as most video games only utilize a maximum of 3 cores.

No No and No. It is not possible, the cap for that processor is 3.2Ghz (not including any overclocks). You will not exceed that speed at any time, the only thing multiple cores do is allow some applications to perform multiple tasks at a single moment.

I don't think your understanding the post completely, I know that you can't combine/stack the the speed to the equivalent of a single core 19.2ghz which is what you are thinking I'm thinking...if that makes sense.

Yes, i have a monitor, if i can i will use my existing hard drive so i don't have to transfer anything over. I like the fact that i can upgrade the computer if i want with Codename's build. As long as it works for what i want, one maybe two WoW's a decent settings with decent FPS (anything better than what i have now) will work perfectly. It doesn't need to last forever, because has codename said, it can be upgraded, which i like.

I'm just really nervous from buying anything because i don't know what I'm getting and i don't know if it will work. If you guys agree that codename's build will work with what i'm looking for, i'll prolly go ahead and get it. Someone said i should upgrade the CPU though?

I would save the time and headache and get a referb, that's what I did, $500 for 8 gig ddr3, and a q8200 (2.33 quad) then I threw in a radion hd searies 1 gig gddr5 card and this thing screams for under $700

And the joy of a referb is that it has factory gaurentee and is already built so it works fine....

Oh and also, there's a shop near my house that will build it for me and put windows 7 on it for free.

@CodenameG, when you say "just get a better video card. and harddrive. dvd drive." Can you provide links to better video cards, and can i use my Hard Drive from my current computer? and also when you say DvD drive, you mean like where the computer can play DvD's? If so, my computer already has one.

Besides maybe refurbs the best place I have found to get a good PC at is iBuyPower.com. Everytime I price out all the parts of building my own and then build the same build on their website they come out cheaper and I don't have to do any of the building. Also comes with a 3 year guarantee. Have had my pc since July and working flawlessly, I <3 AMD Phenom x6 1090T
