My whole guild knows, my both bot chars are in it. They even assigned a guild notice "bot" to them, they are just too good fellas to report anyone.
Only one other person in my guild knows that I bot and it happens to be a fellow botter lol. He is the one that introduced me to HB. I still play by hand for the most part on my main account though so I am normally always watching my accounts to make sure I do not get stuck somewhere and can answer any whispers from players or GM to avoid reports and bans. I am paranoid like that lol.
Isn't it bit of a risk having it tagged as a bot in the comment? Anyone puts in even the smallest complaint and there is confirmation right there, then they see your other toon with the same flag and now you are down another one. At least with the Bastion of Twilight the word bot isn't an immediate flag anymore.
I'm in the second best guild on my real and we all bot. That's how we get so rich and buy BiS gear for alts without raiding. I didn't tell them until I saw the GM 'afk' in Uldum mining. Guessed it was safe to tell them. We never discuss anything to do with HB in game, stictly Skype.
Yes, and it made things awkward when I took a month off without really telling anyone. I came back and everyone was like "damn, we thought you got banned." Nobody cares, though, since I dump gold into the guild instead of personally profiting (too much). I also introduced a bunch of people to safe botting practices.
