90% of people think no one knows because they dont tell anyone. Anyone smart enough to run a legit guild is smart enough to spot a botter
Considering you should never bot anything on an account you're not willing to lose - does it matter who knows?
I bot on my main, I mostly use the raiding-cc's and occacionally farm some mats for professions. I dont feel like Im in any bad spot or in danger. Raid likes my dps and it helps us through FL to make progress so. And no they dont know I havent told anybody, only my girlfriend who's also in the guild knows.
It does indeed matter, there's a huge difference between simply taking a risk and being willing to accept the consequences and taking unnecessary or extra risks to get yourself banned. Just because you could accept a ban doesn't mean you should run around informing everyone you're a bot.
Couldn't agree more. Weither its a account with 1 farmer or your main your still not going to be passive about getting banned. People are obviously willing to take a risk. But taking that risk is part of the excitement when your botting.
I told the main core of the guild about my "priorities" in wow, and now they don't bother whispering my bots, I also sell them gold, help with mats from time to time, I'm a top player in the guild and very neutral to conflict situations....they totally depend on me =))). They're all adults, so none of them told anyone outside. But that's I guess rather an exception, best way to do business is to be untraceable, for sure.
^ sell them gold off a alt account on differnt ip address so it cant be traced back to your main and your good.
Well, I started playin in a casual guild after some real hc raiding, and we meet up every year, get drunk , party and so on... The Guildies that come there, and party with me, know that I bot, that I used to bot to pay the rent and they don't give a fuck. Just 2 or 3 other players on the whole server know that I bot. And I like being Big Spender every once in a while (after getting drunk, and promising 4 Choppers I bought these and 2x hyacinth macaws just for the heck) So yes
Woah no I don't use HB to Tank.. I use HB to farm Uldum like a chinise kid on meth.. I run it from the time I go to sleep till I wake up about four to five times a week. No one says a thing to me from guild or on friends list.. Never get random wispers or mail..
Telling ppl can go one of 2 ways: 1. They cool and dont care, might even join you botting. 2. They act like dicks and blackmail you... Luckily when i told the officers of my guild i was botting they actually joined me (was officer my self) and we've been botting together for 8 months now lol, dont do it so much to sell gold but buy boe's or random/rare stuff. Rotating locations and profiles for farming.
I would never tell a soul besides real life friends.. But why do you guys feel the need or decide to tell guild memebers or officers ?
I am in 2 guilds (raiding and friends) The raiding guild has not clue, but likes the mats in the bank every so often. I told them that I like to farm for hours on end at the fire station. LOL! My friends guild does know that I bot, cause couple of them have chipped in and helped me pay for gametime (they like the mats and gold I put in the bank). If fact they have asked about what bot and stuff like that. I have them sold on the idea of Honorbuddy! My personal opinion, never tell a sole unless you can go to there house and slap the *%$^ out of them if they report you. MEDIC
