I've read the first post and gave you my opinion as you asked for in your first post. If there are other important information you probably should add them to the first post and don't complain if someone is not reading 18 pages before following your instructions.
This is unrelated to the topic of this thread, but it is about Farmer Joe... ... today I received my very first Farmer Joe related ban. I recently reactivated two of my old farming accounts, they had both been sitting idle for ~3 months. After my recent suspension for HB questing (24+ hours and then 15+ hours) I wanted to see if this was for the amount of online spent time. So, I ran 2 accounts for this test, both farming MoP herbs, both spanning 3 zones and all goods were mailed to a single bank character. The details are listed below: Account 1 Day 1: Online time 18 hours Day 2: Online time 16 hours This morning the account was BANNED! Account 2 Day 1: Online time 7 hours Day 2: Online time 8 hours This morning the account was still running
As a result of recent closed beta testing some performance issues have come to light, unfortunately these have proven rather elusive and incredibly frustrating to eliminate completely. As a result of this I have decided to rewrite the core harvesting and movement logic. This is something I was planning on doing eventually, it has just come about much sooner than expected. Fortunately I already had the majority of the redesign in my head and a small portion of the code already developed so this process will not take too long. Below is a small clip of the new changes in action. It's recorded on an iPhone yet again. Fj new - YouTube
This'll surely increase NPH. Glad to see it doesn't just ascend after gathering a node then descend back down if one was really near. It looks much more natural! Great work FPS!
It's always upsetting to see an account get banned, even if it is deemed a "throw away" account. This shows that there is very possibly a timer in place, keeping tabs on accounts running at all hours of the day. The account that was still running (the 7-8 hour a day one) is more like how I farm anyway, so I have nothing to worry about. At least these aren't being banned due to LCP(?) violations. I still fully support FJ, and look forward to it hitting the streets.
Progress looks great, and this saves me dusting off my own gathering botbase if yours keeps up with improvements like this! I would definitely donate to such a worthy cause as I would otherwise have to invest many hours to resurrect and fix my own. Only one minor bit of feedback is to hide your actionbars while you're recording videos like this. If you think about it ... the position of each spell on your action bars acts like a Signature or Fingerprint for your character -- yes there are probably many other characters out there with similar or the same but combined with a number of other factors, like: - approximate date-range the video is likely recorded, - zone you were in at the time, - and even what you harvested (the order and approximate interval between nodes) It wouldn't be impossible to figure out which character you might be for a particularly persistent Blizz employee. ;o) Navigation / pathing has always been simultaneously the greatest strength, and weakness of modern day bots. I'm amazed that breadcrumb-based bots that literally spam click-to-move with the same XYZ accurate to three or more decimal places got away with it for so long. Your approach of learned-node based navigation and revisiting by respawn frequency is definitely a step in the right direction. My only concern would be that after a time - say for example once you've observed all possible spawning locations for nodes - you may end up back in a steady state, pathing in almost exactly the same route every time. Building in some randomness e.g. 90% of the time 'exploit' the best areas, but 10% of the time do some 'exploring' and navigate somewhere new - is in my opinion vital to the success of any future gathering bots.
This already have a great deal of randomness built-in. When navigating to the node spawn locations there is a setting which gives you have a choice of: Randomized Closest Furthest Most Times Harvest Least Time Harvested The default value is Randomized. Meaning, it will choose at random a node location to move to. There is absolutely no chance of it following the same path. I can start 5 characters at exactly the same location and they will each take a different route. EDIT: The other options however could lead to a defined path over a period of time.
Bloody-excellent work sir *hat tip* I've just recently revived my botting account, happy to beta test and feedback if you are interested. Are you going to open-source your botbase or keep it closed/compiled?
I apologise that I missed this being answered earlier in the thread, it has been one long-ass-day I truly cannot wait to see this released and will definitely be contributing to it!! Best of luck resolving / refactoring the last remaining issues, if you need another pair of eyes on the code do PM me -- I practically live inside Visual Studio and have no life anyway
I would love to try it out, been waiting for this sens i saw a post you did awhile back about Farmer Joes!

It looks good, so here's the thing: I'm planning to use gold for my gametime. If it makes me more gold than my gametime would have cost and does so in a way that doesn't get me banned then I don't mind donating the amount my gametime would have cost me.
I noticed someone else on my server using this because he followed me to a node just like how my guy did. The funny thing was he went one way and I went another. This is absolutely amazing to have access to beta because this shows that it is random and people won't always be following each other. Great job FPSWARE. I'll definitely be donating to keep this alive. Amazing work!
From the video and what everyone else is saying, this looks AMAZING! It is bundled with so many features compared to the oudated GB2. We the community have been needing a replacement for GB2 for far too long, and you have delivered! I really enjoy your other work, and the fact that you make things for the public and not expect anything in return. If everyone that used it could afford to donate $1 to help you out and encourage you to do great things such as this, that would be great. I am really looking forward to this. Thanks fpsware!
