I have left my robot on several times where the maintenance cycle kicked it off. However, I've been purposely avoiding the major fate zones simply because non-botters are starting to notice us much more. I'm not one to temp fate when I'm already treading on thin ice. You can do a lot with the FFXIV robot without getting banned, but that's no excuse to get reckless (for me). I'm happy with what I'm getting out of it.
I've always left mine running into all hours of the night, even on maintenance. My suggestion is to set one of your chat tabs to whisper only so you can have an easier time seeing who messaged you while you were afk overnight. I've only ever actually had one person seriously question what I was doing from friends/fc/etc, to which I responded the following night that I was playing with my chat window closed, and afkd when I went to bed. There are quite a few zones that offer decent amounts of fates that are 40+, for zones with a huge fate level gap (IE: Aleport) just set the minimum to around 40 and itll ignore all the baby fates. Watching my EXP tracker, I've netted over 400k per hour solo on BLM, starting around 54 (I had full HQ equips from quests mind you). Repear is also working in old zones, so yea, business as usual.
I would reccomend to anyone the next tips: - If you are on N.Thanalan, ban all the Dark Devices fates, they are pretty obvious mark for botters. - Don't stay on N. Thanalan all the time, go 2 hours on N.Thanalan then 2 hours more on Coerthas Central Highlands. If you stay 12 hours on the same spot, doing the same routine, will be pretty obvius that you are botting. - Make a new Chat Tab only with the Whispers option on (Tell), so in that way you could see who talks to you quite easly, even if you are not on the PC for a short/long period. - Don't talk to any other botter, there are ppl that is stupid. Try to avoid them too, if you are stuck, don't be stopped with 4-5 botters... That would help, but ofc there are nothing that avoid you to being banned for boting, take in mind that everyday more people is aware from botters. Especially from FateBoters on N.Thanalan. I've 2 chars at 60 leveled throught FateBot, but IDK if tomorrow I will be banned.
Yeah, all it takes is a report. At that point a GM can move the character or even just send a tell, if you don't respond or react to the move you're probably screwed. Sometimes they'll even move you to the Gaol zone to attempt to speak with you for being reported. If you don't respond it's pretty obvious. EDIT: Oh and to add on to what Mano was saying, when they investigate botting they do read chat logs so never discuss or admit to using it, even to your mother.
The NThan fate, where you have to follow the fate looks extremely bottish, especially when you have 8 people following the same exact steps as you
My problem with this one is that even if I leave my bot for 30 minutes I'll come back to my window flooded up and down with RMT spam. I still use a seperate window for Linkshell, FC, say, ect.
