You obviously didn't even comprehend what I said. I'm saying you are asking that Blizzard to use a ridiculous amount of resources to determine exactly what was gained from the suspended accounts when they probably cannot verify in the first place. Botting is known to go hand in hand with gold farming so they decided that was the easiest and most appropriate action to take against everyone. Investigating 100,000+ accounts, or whatever people claim the number, to find exactly when the bot was used and how it was used would be just out right ridiculous.

If what you are trying to say is based on some kind of confirmed %, like i dunno..
57% of botters use it to farm gold
      30% to do arena/RBG
      4% for CR on raids/dungeons
      6% to level characters
      3% Misc...

AND they don't have the human capacity to process account by account, then i can understand your point, from a logistic POV. It's easier to just cut the benefit that most people gained from botting. (but not right if they had the capacity to do it...which we don't know (i think they do..but that's just my opinion) )
As for the real number of banned people...we don't really know (and prolly never will) if that number is even slightly accurate.
As for the action of finding out how the bot was used, i don't think it's that ridiculous. It has happened before, right?

A poster said that he/she had talked to a GM and they said we should be getting an e-mail about our banned accounts soon.
If Blizz came out in that e-mail and said something along the lines of: " due to the high ammount of accounts we had to investigate, it was not possible to remove specific items only. With that in mind, we've decided to take away the product of the higher % of botting activities."

And there! I would be "happy" with that! It's understable, and logic.
You know why they did what they did. It's not pure speculation of our part anymore. Cause the reason might be what you just posted, but it might as well be "we found this a good oportunity to make more money and compensate subs losses" (like they would ever tell us that... =) )
If they don't justify it (they don't NEED to, but it would be, imo, a decent thing to do) there will ALWAYS be space to speculate it was merely a finantial move.

PS: thanks for making a post that is actually comprehensive and argumented. Far better to debate the topic with you like this instead of "just take it like a man" or whatever =)

Well, there is nothing we can do about it, no reason to go wild with arguments on the forums. It's not "fair" but that's just life.

I know personally I'm still glad to get all my achievements / mounts / pets / etc back, if I have to pay out 15$ one time to get all that back I'm ok with it. Not really anything to spend in game gold on now anyways, we have a 6 Month dry spell until Legion. That's a boatload of gold income from logging into your garrison 1 Time a Day.

Im only salty about one thing.
Ive never used HB to earn gold (sorry but few Gs from killing bosses isnt argument against CRs) so If I lost my gold I will also lose my free time that Ive invested into farming by hand
You used bot to farm mats (and YOU will still have them in your inventory=you still can make cash out of it!!!) no time wasted,no harm done.

I dont know who you mean by "you" but you dont know me, at all.

I made all my gold with flipping items, using tsm/ tsm3, buying out and resetting markets, dropping it into
      tcg items.

Theres more ways to make gold then just press start on some multiple used farming profile hoping you
wont get banned before the night is over.

When im on, the bot is on, always, i do nothing without a cr running in the back. I never farmed.
The only thing i did while watching it 100 % every time is questing to 100 on 20 + chars.

Lets see, when i log in in 2 days, if my items you talk about, are still there. Be sure, theres way more
then 200 k inthere. And i couldnt give 2 cents if i lost it. Its a risk, thats what makes it fun.

Of course it is irrelevant to Blizzards decision, I am not even arguing about that. Only you are. I stated my personal opinion about the matter for those who care to read it. I know no one cares. Neither do I. I stated my personal opinion because I simply felt like it, you (obviously) can't handle that. Go be pathetic elsewhere :)

      Yes. me.
I translated the conversation from german to english with google translate. So the gramma might be sometimes strange.

      Here we go:

XXX: Hello! I am Gamemaster XXX. Nice to have you for taking time to speak with me. How are you today?
You: I'm doing very well, I'm on vacation
XXX: I can imagine! So it's in your ticket yes to your WoW account, right?
      You: right
You: I just wanted to Information
XXX: Yes sure of course. So your characters are of course still there and can be played directly again. What is, however, no longer be there is the Gold, honor and conquest points.
You: so, none of my chars has a cent
      You: that's tough
XXX: Yes that's right, unfortunately, has been completely removed. Once the account is re-enabled but you can log in again as usual, agrees.
You: Alright. That's all I wanted to do not know. But items still exist?
XXX: Yes, Your Chars have their equipment yet.
You: Alright. I would like to thank to thank you and wish you a nice day.
XXX: Thank you, I wish you of course. Enjoy your holiday.
      You: Thank you, bye bye

So, now it´s clear, that no account has a penny left :)

      Greetz,

So you put XXX for the GM's name, who are you protecting, you or them. I would say you are protecting them. Why is it you people want to hid behind them and protect them.

Because when you show the GM name, the ticket/conversation can easily be traced back to you.
