what's the difference? accounts are being banned every 2 weeks anyway . with or without hb's crappy protection
Those bans are stupidity bans. Like leaving the bot AFK in a heavily populated area and he gets stuck and he is there shaking his a@@ for all to see and you get like multiple reports. These are generally isolated unless Blizz saves them up for awhile and releases at once. When they do that some say its to make it seem like a banwave. Maybe they just lazy to process daily. This however is a completely different animal. Banwaves from detection can be shorter holding spans but not daily. Generally they hold for two to three weeks, some more depending on how much they have accumulated and then drop it. These detection bans normally amount to 1,000's of accounts being banned all at once vs 10's to a 100 accounts with reports. So your two week bans are us as botters being stupid. The big ones that happen every 3 to 6 months (last being Feb 17) is detection.
I don't remember so I was hoping you could remind but does Blizz usually do banwaves after the last major patch of an xpack? The ones I recall where mid xpack well at least the ones that actually hit me anyway.
I don't think they are that predictable. It more depends on when they get something to ban us on like some sort of slip up on our behalf. What I mean to say is they have to detect us first and then they decide how many accounts to collect before dropping the banhammer on us. So it depends more on the detection not them. NOW.....some will argue they always have us detected and its just them deciding when but I don't agree with that and I don't think HB does either otherwise it's pointless to hold back a release because it's simply Blizz deciding when not the release itself.
I mean considering how many times tripwire has gone off during when I've been botting I can definitely agree with you on that.
Personally, I would say we can fairly safely assume they are not safe. If you are farming and selling gold, the economics of account values vs the amount of gold you can farm before the account gets banned probably still results in a high profit margin. For those customers/users (gold farmers or those who don't care about account bans), having a bot back up and running quickly, safe or not, makes sense. For casual botters, or those botting for personal gain, it does not make sense to rush the HB team, as doing so results in increased risk to your account(s).
Im starting to wonder if blizzard has used honorbuddy itself and designed there security specifically around it. If they have had X amount of time to dedicate an entire team to it there is no telling what kind of genius ideas they came up with maybe even flawless. The gold is real money now with tokens. So im assuming security might be taken as seriously as a bank would take there security in protecting money.
At this point I don't care if I get banned, as should any botter. But to say HB needs to release a bot that is detectable, and they know it is, is just gonna make the whole situation worse. I am gonna get banned for using a different bot but w.e that was my choice. I have started school for programming and can say without a doubt that hb is doing what they need to do to keep US safe and their product alive. Just wait. Patience is a virtue no one has anymore. Seems like people think they deserve something cuz they paid. And well what you get is the time back that the bot is down. That is what you pay for. Not for them to release a subpar product so you get banned. They owe us nothing but time to use their product.
I'd put money on it honestly. It'd make more sense to me to ask why wouldn't they have purchased HB and played with it themselves. See how it runs and interacts with their system and then slam security and patches at it to break it down.
Blizzard does to HB what HB does to Blizz and it's silly to even have the conversation to be honest. This should be like asking if air exist.
I guarantee they have purchased the bot and have tried to backward engineer. But I assume they have for all these years.
Hey take it one step further. So a guy gets banned and wants to get right back into the gold making fast. Blizzard has designed a real fast catch-up method in the form of a boost service using real currency $$. Win win for them. All they have to do is space bans out and give the users a bit of hope. Should be interesting to see how this all plays out in the end.
Please show me the month time passing where there was no update in this thread: https://www.thebuddyforum.com/threa...-patch-7-3-0-build-24931.407702/#post-2527330 i count at most 2 weeks.... thats half your claimed time good sir. @Eliitti sometimes caution excercised helps reduce that. If every time there was the option to prematurely expose HB code, I am willing to bet that 6 month window would be MUCH MUCH sooner and more frequent. The strategy is sound, the communication is there if people take a moment to look at the update notes, and honestly it sucks waiting I agree, but better to have "a new set of brake pads then some old worn out ones" (maybe not the best analogy but effective enough to get the point across). Good things take time, and good things are worth waiting for. There will always be a battle between "us" (HB users) and "them" (blizzard) but it doesn't mean that just because its hard or we have rough patches, that all hope is lost. I look forward to seeing if the release goes off without a hitch as hoped for in the posting link.
