Its all about risk. A machine that could run 10 bots inside of VMs could probably run 20 bots outside of it. But would you rather run 20 bots with no protection or run 10 with protection? Because with no protection and running 20 bots at the same time on the same hwid and ip you are going to start losing those accounts fast. Also some people have the hardware to run 10,15,20 bots but don't want to deal with that many. Take my friend for example, he built a nice gaming rig a few months back and he definitely has the hardware to run 20 bots or more. But he only runs five and has them in VMs.
