So basically your saying that they collect data over time and then once they find a similarity or way to use that data in detecting bots they do a mass ban? so basically even if i botted to 80 and then stopped and a year later they found a way I could be banned?
I doubt it. The mass bans are done when blizzard find a guaranteed method of detecting a bot on computers. I doubt they would ever do a mass ban based on data collected or character actions taken. It'd pretty much be when they can physically detect the bot running. It's actually not that often that it happens with the major bots which is why when they manage it, they don't just ban a few people because they bot will simply be patched before they find any more.
You know how to solve all problems like this. Don't care so much about your account lol it's only a game! You could always relevel another character! If your botting you should already know the risk of being banned in the first place so you know you will loose an account at some point in time, so don't get so attached to your WoW Account then everything will be good. I use to bot on all my accounts, some of em got banned but I don't care lol I just started a new account and leveled up again. only takes like 1-2 weeks to get to level 80 depending on how much you play. You know the risk of botting if you don't want to risk your account(s) then don't bot.
guys jesus christ i commented on an old thread as i thought it was specific to that thread and all you lot can talk about is tin foil hat speculation all i want to no is is it possible to play wow in full screen while i bot in windowed mode cos atm for me the bot just doesnt behave properly and mainly just dies
Have bot your clients in Windows Mode, and just make the one your playing on larger then the botting window.
If you go to the Video option in WoW you can check "Maximzed" just below "Windowed Mode". If you do this, WoW will look like its fullscreen but HB will still work.
Do you guys know of any good free VPNs to use with botting so that my main is not linked to my alternates? and does using VPNs raise a red flag if Blizzard recognizes it?
When they ban accounts, is it all the accounts on one battle.net? I just got back my main .net account which has 5 WOTLK on it I was going to use for glidering, so I'm thinking of using 4/5 for botting and the 1/5 is where my main toons are, so If I get caught will they ban the whole .net? And is there anyway to xfer a toon from an account/.net acocunt w/ a different name to my main one? I bought a nice pvp mage but want to put it on my main account and use that 80 dk alt on it for farming
Just a sidenote: Battlenet accounts feature a lot more games than wow, and the EULA does not state the right to ban an account with all games. So if you bot in wow, this may not affect your starcraft account or your diablo2 account. Plus several wow accounts on one bnet account do not count in regards of account sharing. So if you do not bot on account a, they may not ban account b, which is unbotted. But still I say that botting on the same bnet might increase the possibility of investigation.
I don't think you quite understand..... Your account is with Blizzard. Blizzard owns everything and anything on that account. If Blizzard want to ban the entire battle.net account then they can do so whether you botted or not, whether you wear pants or not, whether you have sneezed today or not. The only thing you can do about that is complain. a little.
If you bot on account A, and never interact with account B, never send money, never send items from one account to another, you will probably be o, in my opinion. However, if account A is banned because they caught you farming herbs 24 hours a day and you were then sending those herbs through the mail to acccount B, then you are probably going to have a problem. It all boils down to how thorough the investigating GM is at that point. Again, just my opinion.
I never botted my main account but now i do and have done for the last 8 months or so, everything can be linked wether your on the same bnet or not so you would still get banned.
