Mass bans

2 accounts - both using GB2 rotating about 2 hours per day (account 1 on Monday, account 2 on Tuesday etc) enough to make some gold and pay for subs on mine and wifes accounts. 1 got 6 months and the other 18 months...

I was botting casual, always watched 100% but now in hindsight I wish i went hard 12 hours a day and will likely do that soon

 

Oh i was running 5 accounts roughly... 18 hours a day for the last week... glad I did that because now i can't play for 6 months i dont wanna gnome sequencer mashing till 100...

You completely missed the point...It went right over your head.

Anyone that is blaming Bossland for this, get over yourselves. You knew full well that botting would lead to a ban. You have absolutely no clue what Bossland and crew do in the background for protections. It obviously wasn't enough, but don't even try to say it was only their fault.

 

Yes my main account got 18 months.

Confused though since my second account doesn't seem banned yet. Haven't botted on it for about a month or so, is that one safe then maybe?

Managed to transfer guildcontrol of my guilds to a sleeperaccount, so the gold is accessible - but Im out - at least for the time being.. Mostly I feel sorry for my wife, who is gonna see so much more to me... Poor woman!

I have a hard time seing HB getting back on its feet after this 2nd major banwave. they do seem to know how to detect HB..

Obviously this is our own fault... Bot at your own risk and bot smart.... store gold on unbotted untouched account, unlinked battle net account...on a separate machine with out HB installed on it. This is the lesson i learned for the next time. But i think HB is dead... or Blizz will let us bot for 6 months and than ban us all again and again. if i come back to the game after 6 months. I will use a new machine, new battlenet, new evertyhing and IP spoofing software etc the whole 9 yards to make it isolated as possible from my account that i care about. And only bot on that I need to recoup my gold loss, lol! It was a harsh lesson to learn but hey, now i have the free time to go out and achieve my goal of being a body builder!

However I don't see HB recovering from this... with Apoc handing blizz the source code, HB is screwed

Even though I had my main account banned I'm happy as well. The botting is out of control. I hope Blizz can find a way to stop it completely. I know from personal experience that losing an account can be a very emotional experience, but the game would be a lot better without the bots. Blizz is far from fixing the problem, but they are making progress.

How does botting quests hurt the game ? It doesn't. NPC's don't care if they interact with a person or with a Buddy.

 

I think it will hit harder on blizzard then on the botters, a lot will quit the game (more then 7 million already did),that is a lot of unsubs,and the legion refunds.
The funny thing is,blizzard is always banning when there is a discount.

 

A little bummed i just spent 50$ on the Buddy store though. I wont complain or try to reverse those, I know the devs work hard... Merry Christmas!!

Yeah I know they hate botters, but I hope they realize probably over half of their subs use some form of a bot. Has anyone tried to appeal and had any luck?
