Most likely the chat program, I use EX Combat Assist for every job I have yet to master which is like 6 out of 9 jobs everyday and it doesn't look suspicious and if no one calls you out on it then even moreso. If you were monitoring your bot from work and you see that no one has yet to accuse you then most likely no one is suspicious, leaving the only true blunder being telling everyone you're using third party software, even if just for chat.
I don't even tell my IRL friends that I'm using it. People tend to bring it up in chat, and even worse if you have really fucked up friends that don't like you making a shit ton of gil fishing--let's say for arguments sake--, I've known people to fucking snitch on their own friends. Even if they don't report you, all it takes is someone else doing it to the point where they check logs from you and then it's over. Hell that's how a kid using fucking ACT got banned.
I just wanted to add my two cents... I don't believe that one must get a whisper at all. They just need to get reported. I noticed a lot of people mention they didn;t get whispers. Well, if you look like a bot and multiple people decide to flag you to a GM, it raises the likelihood that a live GM will take a look at your activities at some point. There are some issues I have with fatebot, none of which are TOO glaring: 1. Mounts incredibly fast. I am generally on my mount and off to the next fate before many other people are even realizing the fate is done. I am aware that this IS humanly possible, but I feel it's just a hair too perfect. If I were a live person fating and saw people mounting at this speed EVERY time I would get suspicious. 2. Pathing down a stariway when 99% of real players just jump off. This is a big one. I am not sure there is a good way to fix this if we wanted to, but it's just something I have noticed. It certainly looks off seeing people use the stairs lol. 3. I know it was mentioned that pathing is not an issue (where you will follow the same path). The first day I picked up the bot (yesterday) I was following the exact path of another person outside of little al migho (sp?). Now, I am still playing with settings, but it is something I noticed immediately. 4. Movement is jerky on escort missions. I am noticiing this in Costa Del Sol as I type this. Whent he escort mission is in progress my character movements are really jerky. I am assuming that the bot is simply keeping a certain distance from the NPC. This one isn;t as huge, but if I noticed a person moving this way on multuple escorts, again, it would raise a red flag.
Escorts are turned off by default for a reason (at least I think they are, it's been forever). The bot just can't handle them, so skip them (uncheck the option). I've noticed that with mounts as well. It would be nice if there was a random delay added (or if one already exists, up it a bit). The pathing can't be avoided. If the bot accidentally jumped onto a rock or something you'd just be stuck (even if this bot had "stuck" detection like other bots, which I don't think it does, you'd wobble around for a bit and look odd).
