arrogance and ignorance. that's the new customer relationship management. i see.

seems like in the end the core decision makers in the buddy team are nothing more than some script kiddies that lost any sense of interpersonality :O

To be honest it's just a shame that Buddyteam treats their customers this way. I had way more respect for you before this fiasco. The fact that you're not stating the actual reasons you are doing this is even more mind-boggling that the fact that you discontinue support of a product the same day you announce it. Noone does that EVER. Not single one respectable company does it. There needed to be a grace period for it to be reasonable and acceptable.
And as for reasons, ofcourse there might be things you don't want to say, but saying this is just about sales without ever even trying to communicate to userbase that there is a problem and trying to fix it is just something that doesn't sound like truth at all.
I am very disappointed in Bossland gmbh as a company due to lack of integrity and transparency on this current matter. But hey, who cares anyway, life goes on. =)

I'm not surprised you are disappointed. So are we. But the reason we have stopped really is money. Bot making is a business and if any of our bots can't pay its way, it will be closed. With the schedule of patches that is coming for PoE, there is no way a single developer can keep up Exilebuddy and the bot can't afford a second developer so we closed it.

We seem to be talking in circles with me repeating myself. Please re-read the OP if you have any doubts as to what is happening or why it is happening.

So all the new tools Drew wrote to make patches easier and more manageable were for nothing then I guess.

Still, I think it's the wrong time to make this move. ExileBuddy has had it's fair share of downtimes due to the nature of how PoE works. There have now been 2 complete rewrites of the bot and multiple major downtimes. With what Drew announced, things seemed on the up & up. Why couldn't you give it a few weeks to see if the playerbase / sales of EB improved with a released bot? Looking over the past 6 Months there have been plenty of downtime for EB so it's no wonder that sales have been low. This smells of a complete knee-jerk reaction to close the bot mere days after a lenghty downtime.

Or was Drew simply burned out from working on EB and wanted to stop the project? I could accept this easier then a statement of it not being profitable.

      Hawker is absolutely correct.
I think I'm one of the big users that got hit with this hard. Even so, logically speaking.
      Put yourselves in Buddy's Shoes.

      Their product is a bot
      Our Product is the game.

If the bot does not profit, close it.
If the game does not profit, leave it.

Simple as that. Although, I personally would take into consideration other factors that would warrant me leaving the game, bans, uptime, QoL.
Buddy could have tried another model, but choose to kill the current project before any other deviations arise. I don't blame them, if the ship(game) is sinking. I would jump as soon as possible. Botting takes resources(account cost, power, services), and running a bot company takes even more resources(salary, hosting, Customer support, platform, marketing, chargebacks, the works).

The decision has been made, time to move on folks and find more prospecting games to ask buddy to develop bots for.
Monday comes, I'll at least know what to start my next project on. Gotta let my babies rest for now.

3 Major re-writes, what happens if every big patch requires a re-write? You will kill Drew.
At this point, if you look at it. I have a crap ton of keys that are lifetime on a few different accounts.
      This is one of them.

Now, since I'm lifetime I've only paid once, since 2014 til now. Now you can imagine if an average user paids monthly first, sees the bot as very good, then buys lifetime.
They pay once for the lifetime. Judging from QQ posts's from users who say their time will expire on every bot downtime. I assume 1% are monthly or recurring. This cannot sustain a bot dev cycle. Exile Buddy has been bleeding Buddy's cash reserves. The fact that the bot has been running for so long amazes me. And I thank management for that leniency.

Can we sit on our EB keys and wait for a future project until we have to change them? Or theres a deadline?

There is no deadline on key transfers. I have to find that post.

Any user who bought a key since March 1 can be refunded in full.

Alternatively, users are entitled to convert their login key to use with any of our other bots such as Honorbuddy, Demonbuddy and Rebornbuddy. For legal reasons, users in Germany cannot get keys for bots that work with any Blizzard game.

Thanks for all your support and enthusiasm. Email support@thebuddyforum.com to have your keys converted to other bots or to get a refund.

I am locking this thread as we have covered all aspects of the decision. Drew will be able to post when he returns.
