Sorry that i could not reply on the first few pages, seems there are many ppl out here with concerns

So why paid plugins ?

Paid Plugins are actually not a part of Honorbuddy, like an Auction House Tool, it has to be maintained and improved, actually its nothing more than to maintain and improve eTrain ( which is absolutely free ), B U T actually not even 30 % off the users are willing to use an AH tool, because they dont need it , or dont care, or whatever else. The Developer on the other side, spends a lot of time to provide this service for the minority of the users, with an system included in HB which allows to give the Plugin Developer an "monetary Thanks" back for the work, its a good conclusion to give Developers the possibility to create Plugins for niched products.

Also the gathering plugin, which will be Gatherbuddy for Honorbuddy is free for all Lifetime Users, we do not plan to start 100 paid plugins. We will NOT create this:
# Paid Login Plugin
# Paid Start Button Plugin
# Paid Load Profile Plugin

but Developers will have the possibility and the attraction to create niche products.

We do not charge for Meshes, Profiles or CustomClasses, there will not be a Pay4CC or Pay4Mesh system from our side.

Another thing, if someone creates now an plugin which is free and we have one that we do charge for, then the users are free to chose which to use.
If a Dev decides to create a plugin and decides to not charge anything for it and give it free to the HB users, then it will be free.

I'm a bit disappointed to hear this after spending ?240 on 3x GB lifetime (which will run 9 GB), when now you will be able to buy 2x HB RaF and run 10 GB for ?80?

Or have I got it wrong?

 

That actually is pretty correct but you will be able to run a GB PLUGIN though, not GB

 

But they do the same thing right? Sorry it's the first I've heard of a GB plugin for HB, is there an announcement or something about it?

they dont really... gatherbuddy is made to gather nodes/herbs, while with honorbuddy, it will only gather the nodes/herbs that are in range of where you walk/fly, so if a node is lets as 50 ft away, then iHB wont gather it, GB on the other hand would

Hawker I still dont see how that persons estimate is incorrect
"People which have multiple accounts can mail us so we will merge the accounts into 1 unique Shop Account and they will need to buy only 1 Application for multiple Honorbuddy and Gatherbuddy Invoices. ( PM Bossland, we support multiple Invoices on one account now since 2 months )"
Thus they will be able to have 10 instances of GB plugin with just buying 2x Raf thingy-ma-bobs

 

You already do.

 

I suggest to remove bugs from the core before trying to get more money from your client for plug-ins.
It's starting to be obvious.

 

As per Bossland;
You have to already have bought GB lifetime.. (or in the future)
There is no such thing as HB lifetime (you only buy year to year)
So there for the Plug-in will only work for someone that has bought GB lifetime and is using HB as one of there sessions...

I'm sorry if this has already been asked/answered, but is there an API and/or some documentation on how to develop "plugins" for HB.

Also, where is the love for GB?? No Plugin support for GB?!

Developer forum ftw, information overload in these forums, maybe I'm just not used to it yet. I'll possibly make some money with paid plugins. Look Out!!!

We should just have a few exceptional plugins still costing money, while profiles, meshes, and CC's free. While on the other hand, I think it would be a magnificent idea to have people sell custom profiles and meshes and CC's or anything other along those lines for the ones that know absolutely nothing about coding (like me). For example, most everyone here uses the same profiles for farming in Northrend, but Erenion (just using you as an example because I do believe that you totally own at coding =D) could create a thread saying that he is selling custom profiles, so you leave a post, or message him saying that you are interested in buying one. He could message you back asking what specifically your looking for, and he could then tell you an estimated time, and cost for it. Now while I do believe Erenion has clearly stated that he does not want to charge for plug-ins, he might want to make a few extra dollars for that cocaine addiction of his, I really don't know.
