PlayerAuctions charges 15% + $1.99 per transaction you sell. I can't remember if the money they send you gets hit with a PayPal fee as well though. So if you sell 20,000g at $3.20 on PlayerAuctions you're really selling it for about $2.60 after fees (If PayPal doesn't take its cut as well, which it probably will.) You also have a crapload of competition. Competition that has more feedback than you. If I soley sold on PlayerAuctions, I would never get rid of my gold. I find it much easier just to find my own private buyers. Most people, if you get them out of the game, are legit. If you get your buyer from a forum like mmowned or mmobay, do your research and make sure they have good reputation. Either way, it is good to do the following when selling to a new buyer: 1. Require that they send the money as a gift. 2. Have them email you from the same email that the PayPal is registered under (this helps prevent chargebacks due to hacked PayPal accounts. Helps, does not fully prevent.) 3. If you are buying from forums, google their Instant Messenger name and forum name. They might have scammed on other forums.
always always always always always have people GIFT you the money. if they wont, tell them sorry. if its a business like my gold brokers that you trust, then you u should be ok w/o a gift, but private buyers are usually douchebags (if u dont know them)
Sorry to hear, but this is just the risk you take. maybe contact a gm and ask what "happened to my gold" i dunno never been in this predicament.
Good site if your willing to wait a few weeks for your money. also be sure and fraps your deliveries ...
No. That takes "3 to 5 business days" and even if you did take the money out via bank account or PayPal debit card at an ATM, when the person files a claim and gets their money back, your PayPal will simply have a negative balance.
Xetro no it doesn't they will hold the balance. 1) Always ( as mentioned earlier ), ask the buyer to send the money as a gift, or donation . W/e But if it's not sent as a gift ( refer below ) 2) Run fraps or any other video recording programs. Forcefully ask the buyer to say out his paypal email in game ( claim its a seller's check ) 3) If you're not able to do the 2nd option or paypal's cust svc is just being anal. Do remember to take screenshots of the trade, ( after you hit trade, SS immediately ). 4) Reply open disputes / cases with paypal asap if the person calls for a chargeback, even if dispute fails DO NOT STOP THERE, ( Use 'try another department' technique ) Contact paypal by e-mail or paypal message, with all evidence that the buyer did indeed receive his gold ( upload screenshots to photobucket etc etc ), and delivery was fast and efficient ( paypal focuses on the 'delivery of the product & NOT the product itself fyi' ) Always end your dispute with, ' I'm willing to accept all paypal fees that have incurred for the transaction and at worst a partial payment from the original, however the buyer did receive his digital delivery ' Do not forget to mention all your successful past transactions. 6) Paypal has now extended the 'delay' for disputes, some disputes go for as long as 45 days. Huge increase from the past. Make full use of the 30 + days that you have. 5)Use auction or gold selling sites, even though you earn less but you lessen the risk of losing everything.
Yeah, that was the deal when I sold EQ2 plat on PA. There were tons of sellers that were available 24/7 (I worked and liked to have a social life), and they had a SHITLOAD more platinum than me, or made much more per week, so they would undercut me all the damn time.. jesus. The fees were rediculous, but there wasnt any paypal fees, the money they sent you is already in paypal, they might have taken a fee hit because the buyer used a CC or something (any money already in paypal doesnt get fee'd). I tried to find some private buyers on EQ2, didnt go so well. The 3-5 business days pissed me off though, I mean some people wouldnt confirm delivery, so thats what 2-3 days for it to expire and auto confirm, THEN you want the 3-5 days, so usually about a week after you deliver the damn currency will you get paid, very inconvenient when you'd like to use your money now.. And wow, wait weeks for money on mogs? jesus, i'll go to PA for my scraps. $2.60 is a good price though, PA is usually higher cause of the direct seller, just when it came to EQ2, Pusada was giving me $7 per 100p, when PA was doing about 8 to 9, but by time I got there it evened out after fees to be maybe 7.2, and I'd take the 7 for the instant pay out vs 3-5 (one week in reality) day wait. If you somehow are a powerseller, its like within a business day.. but I dont even know what kind of money you're moving around to become a powerseller, I looked at the amount of money you have to make within like 90 days and it was rediculous amounts, and I cant even imagine what happens if somehow you get stuck with some "outsider trading" bullshit, cause they told me 30% of my sales was $150 bucks, so they wanted 150 dollar fee, plus a $300 deposit balance incase it happened again (so they could take it).. was like wow really.. havent made that much since I just joined and you expect me to shell out 450. Can you imagine what some of the powersellers would have to shell out? jesus.
lol... Yes they can. Had it happen to me. All they have to do is say the credit card is stolen. This is why my Paypal is $300 in the negative.
Sounds like you should have sold it to a more reputable buyer or done more verification on a person that was handing over $300. The majority of the time, people don't do that when sending as a gift. This person very well may have stolen someone's credit card. If I do any large transactions, I take the time to verify email addresses, send a tracking number (Seller Protection kicks in), state that they are buying a World of Warcraft "Such and such" Trading Card in the mail with a free "ENTER ITEM HERE", and you better believe I will be calling to verify that their number coincides in some way to their shipping address as listed in their PayPal. Even after all of that you can still get scammed, but the chances of it happening decrease tenfold. I've saved myself $150 today alone by catching three scammers from mmobay, using this method or variations of it. There's no telling how many of them totally avoided even contacting me because I publicly state that I verify all sales.
He had more rep than me on the site I did business with. And I had plenty. Hes now banned, so I guess he was going out with a bang.
Go to your local netcaf? - log on wow (The IP has changed) - Change the password Go home, try to login with your old pass - Call Blizzard and whine, pretend your a dumbass with computers and tell him to stay on the phone. Reset your password, and login while he is still on the phone. QQ about your character is missing all his gold! If you want to make sure this works, you might have to sell all your items at the caf
Man, how do these people find all these buyers? I have no clue where to look for private sellers (illidan us horde), but i'm looking to buy all the same. I have my own HB account but I'm too scared to bot now since they seemingly ban for killing tons of mobs.
Paypal is one of those funny business people. They try to do the right thing, but with the way people are, it is difficult sometimes. However, I believe that you should not have had the money returned to the buyer as this is for digital goods. According to Paypal's policy, they do not/will not refund for digital goods. I found this out when I was having difficulty getting the monthly codes from MMOMimic. After attempting to work with the seller, I still was unable to get the codes and ended up complaining to Paypal. My request was for the seller to just forward the email with the codes and he never responded. I ended up paying 2 monthly subscription charges with MMOMimic, numerous emails from him telling me to report it to a different website, and no codes. Paypal informed me that since the purchase was for digital goods, Paypal would not refund the money.
Same happened to me, Except that i got banned from their forums for trying to cancel my subscription. I however did track their IP and that way got to know the program makers address. I sended a small package there... I had to cancel my bank card because of this, and nowdays i cant afford a new ID, old one expired. So I cant get a new bank card either, thank you MMoScrewer.
