This is total bullshit. If blizz would scan for "honorbuddy.exe" there would be a banwave shitstorm as never seen before. Is there any? No.

Allowing a rename may help in some cases, however, it all depends on what Blizzard is doing. For instance

      1) Scan for HonorBuddy.exe
      2) Scan for the description
      3) Scan window titles looking for HonorBuddy
      4) Scan net stats checking to see there is a connection the honorbuddy authentication server
      5) Scan all processes, then compare either the memory "footprint" or go back to the executing assembly and check it.

None of these are tell for "certain" someone is botting, but any of them, if used, could put you on a "watch" list. Take this, combine with in game behavior, weighed with how "destructive" your botting is the to overall game and ban.

I think we should be able to rename the .exe and the window names it uses. But to be fair, think of HonorBuddy like a car. If you look our your window every day and see a Porchse 911 parked in a certain spot and one day the owner removes the Porchse emblems with those of a Geo Metro, would that fool you? No, because you're looking at the car, not the logo.

No, cause it will still be the same car, only with a different logo.

Hb will have different memory usage, take into account plugins, different cr, class, etc etc.

So no process will look the same, even tho you change the name.

cause : 5) Scan all processes, then compare either the memory "footprint" or go back to the executing assembly and check it.

is giving blizzard to much credit imo.

ORLY What is bullshit according to you ?
Blizzard is on stock market and has shareholders to satisfy. According to trends, the value keeps growing : LINK
Now, there is 1 ban for every 3/5 new customer (don't forget 1 bot is 1 paid account with monthly subscription). If you think you are "safe" because you didn't get banned yet, let me tell you are wrong.
You are on a blacklist and your turn will come sooner or later, and may come even faster if you get reported because they have to ban you as soon as a presumed "legit" player spots a bot (in order not to lose "legit" customers).
Depending on the "intensity" of botting, you can get a warn or perma ban, sometimes get your account back if you beg and apologize for being stupid for botting and sware you'll never again.
Taking some precautions ie. renaming processes will "delay" being spotted and automatically added on blacklist.
