This is what I'm thinking... We already have a "ALL IN ONE CC", which is CLU. It works well, most of the time. Some of the Classes/Specs are great, some of them are good, and some of them are... not that good... But this is what happens when you work on something that attempts to include EVERY CLASS, EVERY SPEC... Instead of doing this, why don't you work on a SINGLE CLASS and make it PERFECT? I have yet to see a class like ShamWoW. ShamWoW is just perfect. No other class comes EVEN CLOSE to it. And Why is that? Because Bobby53 has focused on JUST ONE THING, from the very beginning... And he worked hard to make it perfect. Nowadays, there are some classes that really, REALLY need some love... PRIESTS come to my mind. I'm used to raiding with ShamWoW for my Resto Shaman, and it's great. I'm Always the top HEALER, the mana manegement is great, the cooldown management is great, the dispells are great, etc. But I'm very frustrated when I try to get the same results with my priest or my paladin... There are some CC for them, of course... But we can't compare their performance to ShamWoW. So, I would advice you to strengthen the weakest links of the chain instead of creating a new chain... I mean, you don't need to reinvent the wheel... Most of the CCs are good the way the are. You should better improve the weakest ones.
@Hbaioni, If we do indeed get the developer community in on this project it will strengthen the outcome as each developer can work on a single class/style. after he/she has finished the basic then it can be plugin to the whole(framework) and from there tweaked to perfection. Now days we have one developer who does all the work and gets on and off advice or help along the way. Grouping as a whole will combat this issue making the project a more then comparable CC.
http://www.thebuddyforum.com/honorbuddy-forum/classes/paladin/52316-noobrage-holycow.html raided several heroics with it, hardly oom, top healz x2
@Nicholas994, As the initial post states very clearly: This is a thought and has yet to be started, we are simply testing the waters with hopes in gaining the helping hands of our fellow Dev's.
hello Dagradt, i wrote pm to wownerds, thought he is the main contact for the project, but didn't get an answer atm. who is the main contact to pm for offering support?
@Stormchasing, WoWNerds will be taking the lead on this project, I am sure he is just a bit busy atm. Edit: I should learn to read before I post, lol... Too early for me.
Idk, I just think the only thing a project like this can really contribute is a nice gui. For the framework, you would really just be reinventing the wheel. We have all written frameworks that are derivatives of the same exact thing. The same can be said for rotations really. Its always fun to start a new project... But ask yourself, "what have we not done?". The answer to that question is what we should do.
Misleading title. Should be named "Work in Progress" or "Calling all developers" etc. Also, Singular is there for a reason. Enjoy your futile effort.
@Znuffie, If you don't have anything constructive to say, then just keep it to yourself. The initial post states very clearly what this thread is for and what it is about.
Futile effort? Are you stupid? "singular is there for a reason" lol if everyone thought that way we wouldnt have shamwow, junglebook, mastaghs pvp ccs and dragagt awesome stuff. Before you post why dont you think, this sounds like an awesome idea and i think it will bring alot to the comunity.
I agree with what has been said though, really. This sounds great but from the perspective of people trying to find things.. why not put in the title "Work In Progress". How hard would that seriously be? What is one good reason to NOT put it in the title? Everyone can flame one guy for having an opinion, but no one actually argues logically why they think he is wrong. I really wish this forum had a section for "Supported Current Working CC's" and the like. The "futile effort" comment was unneeded, but seriously, this post was originally made in February. I love the idea, but sorry guys.. vaporware doesn't help me (or anyone) at all. There is so much more potential in using HB, if only it didn't take 6 months to sort through all the outdated, unsupported, non-existent stuff that is floating around here. I'm not being negative, I'm being honest. It should be the job of the moderators, or whoever is in charge of the forum to close threads, move threads, update us members on what is real, what is supported, and what we can count on to use as a product. I made a thread suggesting this a few months ago, and it was denied/deleted or whatever. Oh well, flame me for having an opinion. I'm not picking on the OP of this topic per-say, just venting general frustration with trying to find anything on these forums.
lol wtf opinion, what is this crap? No, to be serious: It shouldn't be the job of a mod. Those Derps have enough to do all day. The Original Author should edit his first post and write just a few words like: Last working version XX or Isnt supported anymore. But yeah, there is a lot of outdated stuff, but i never had the slightest problem to find a working thing.
Well to be honest when a author/dev decides to call it quits they don't always bother themselves with sorting through old threads and updating it. One good moderator could easily process all the outdated stuff into archives and clean up this forum in a week. Back on topic I'd love to see what happens with this and hope it comes to frution.
