It doesn't, they just feed you some supply/demand bullshit but all the while they can just set up a simple algorithm that will steadily increase the gold price of tokens, might sound ironic but the thinking is just PURE GOLD Of course this is only speculation on my part, but if you ask me, they'd be stupid not to do it if their goal would be to run gold websites out of business. They've done it before in d3, when they kept lowering the price of gold constantly until they just made gold soublound.
All I know is I have 440k gold on one account with 4 different characters and once the price of the tokens do start to fall from the initial value that does finally show in the AH, I will buy with gold as many as i can. There is no price set in the AH anyway as no tokens are avail in game. The price will do down as more and more people want to sell.
When you said "my brother" were you talking about yourself? I remember a lot of "one of my friends" and "someone I know"
Bill me every month USD 14.99/mo (USD 14.99 billed every month) Bill me every 3 months USD 13.99/mo (USD 41.97 billed every 3 months) Save USD 12.00 / Year Bill me every 6 months USD 12.99/mo (USD 77.94 billed every 6 months) Save USD 24.00 / Year - BEST VALUE If you use subscription. Buying a card is 29.99 for 2 months, benefit in buying these is if you have a connection, who gets a discount from retailer above tax rate = less than 15 a month.
I think this will do well for a little bit but wow will have to look over how they do it. I have always wanted his due to botting eve I have been able to play it for free until I get bored and wait till something cool and new comes out. but look at eve they will let you undercut. you can place buy orders. There is more cost in ingame currency (IE blown up ships, implants, and the best Blown up Plex.) so there is more need. Right now I can repair red gear for the cost of about 3 green drops. This is going to be more for people that want mounts, BOE epics and the likes. From what I am reading you cant just like type in that you want to send the time to a different account. until they really think this over, I just don't see a lot of people buying the tokens after the first few months.
This seems really weird to me to offer in game currency to pay for the game. Blizzard makes the virtual currency, then has people use it to buy their products. It doesn't make sense from a business perspective. Here are a few reasons I can think of for Blizzard doing this. 1. Remove some of the currency from the game to prevent massive deflation of the currency. 2. Flush out more botters to ban. The gold will be so attractive to botters that they will make mistakes like sell too much gold, or farm for longer than they normally would. It would make the really greedy ones over reach and get caught. 3. Keep long term legit players online more, doing more quests, more auction activity etc. Many games have failed, not because they weren't good games, but because the player base dropped i.e. Rift. More players = more fun for most people playing MMO's. I will be glad to take advantage of this plan of theirs. It just makes me wonder what they are really up to....
well from my calculations for some sites i checked, if the token is selling for 30k gold for $20 . that's $1 less than the retail gold seller sites. Also i just recently got into selling gold because of being bored of playing the game. but prices I've seen are .25 per 1k. and that isn't worth it. unless you have tons of bot accounts.
no i was not referring to my self "bro". none the less there are ppl out there that would rather use the gold for game time then have to pay money to play it
1. No gold is removed from the game. it is only moved from one player to another. 2. They are increasing subs of not so wealthy players by allowing people to purchase this inflated game time with their sweat and tears. 3. They are increasing profit of these subs by charging 33% more to use their Free Service. 4. They are also increasing subs of wealthy players by allowing them to purchase gold when they would otherwise stop playing because of the grind. This is a win, win, win for Blizzard. After all, isn't profit the goal of most every business?
i jsut cant wait to blow all my wealth on tokens so i wont have to pay for wow for a long time haha XD
I havent read a lot about it, so if anyone knows, please answer... I have an active account and an inactive account on the same bnet.. is there a way to buy the token on the active account and use it for the inactive one?
I don't understand something, and perhaps I am just dense. Wouldn't be the first time. In any case, let's say I have an account with 400k gold and I buy all these tokens for free game time. I mean, yeah, that's fine for that one account... but, how does that help my other accounts? can't use them for a different account, soulbound and all, right? So then... A little curious about moving gold that is then used to buy tokens for new accounts. Seems like a breadcrumb trail that wouldn't be that hard to follow and could lead to getting the mother account banned. Maybe I'm just being too cautious.
Blizzards Goals here is most likely: Make extra sub money and destroying people selling gold by offering a lower price for the exchange minus any of the risk factors involved with buying from a gold selling site. Yes, they are soulbound you may buy them from the AH but never re-sell them. As far as helping your other accounts just mail them gold and let them buy tokens for themselves as long as they have a active subscription you can continue it indefinitely as long you don't let them go inactive.
Fyi blizz has stated that you can only own 1 token at a time as person who buys with gold. You have to use that token before you can purchase another. Now on a side note i dont know stipulations on using the tokens. Example: 1. Buy token 2. Use token 3. Goto 1 Or it is possible you can only go out a max number of days in advance and have a spare in inventory. On a another side note.......one of the cool things about this is you can essentially gift a friend there membership if they cant afford to pay the sub......i got a lot of broke friends so i kinda like that lol
yes.. an inactive account can buy a token and reactivate her time... since "veterans account" are already working... in an inactive account you now can log on a lvl 20 char and buy the token.. its on the EXPLANATION VIDEO BLIZZ WOW TOKEN.. posted by Blizz some hours ago on youtube.
