Most of the developers with Pay-ware pick a Dynamic Link Library ( dll ) to: - Easily monitor versions. - Prevent users from modifying, removing or sharing source code. - To add an layer of security to their routine. So it's not that bad of a idea for the developer, although users might disagree. There are downsides too... but lets not go there.
Hey Mate, when I opene HB with your ShamanSE Folder in /routines.... My HB German Version always crashes! Starting with any other of your SE editions... HB works.. May u fix it plz? Have you renamed your Honorbuddy.exe file to a new name? You will need to change the reference in the Loader.cs yourself. See the installation guide included with the SE for details.
I have donated for the SE editions of all your CCs Tuan, but have yet to receive an email saying when/where I can download the Shaman SE version. Do you have any idea when it will be ready?
I got myself the special version and I get an error message when start of Honor Buddy. "Config file has been rewritten. Please restart Honorbuddy". I have not changed the .exe of HonorBuddy. I even HonorBuddy newly installed and tried it again, but the same error message.
Do you have other CR installed like The Warlock Version (Demonic, or Leaves from Druid)? If you do, separate install seems to be needed to fix that problem for me.
Tuan is just overwhelmed at them moment with all the updating and bug fixes, so PM him and he will get back to you ASAP!
No Does not work for me. Routines have in my folder, only the CR's of TuanHA (special). Have tried to delete all the other, leaving only the CR's of TuanHa in the folder. But I still get the same error message.
Only have the Shaman one install, and it will work. The other CR from Tuan does not seem to be updated, and will cause an error. I tried it with just the Shaman one and works correctly

There is another risk that we don't know what is in the DLL. Like virus or hack SW. The most important thing is I need to modify something like the hotkey, etc. Also if I know he will provide DLL, I will not pay for it at all, but now I have pay $60 for it. Just like the CC for warlock, I plan to buy it in the beginning. But when I know it is a DLL, I even don't want the one day trial version to have a try. To the guys who didn't pay for it yet, please think clearly what you will get is the DLL version in the future.
Honorbuddy uses .dll maybe you should not use that either, seriously you are being to paranoid yeah they could hide malicious code in there but why would they? They get money from having happy customers why risk that Sent from my C6603 using TheBuddyForum mobile app
Skipping all the rattling about .dll Why do u open the cc to modify hotkeys? Most of them have changeable settings on the interface.
HB is provided by a company and I trues it. But the CC provider is just a person. This is the difference. Also that's why in this forum, it is not allow to provided any CC with DLL. Just as what I say, if tuanha told me he will provide the dll for the CC, I will not pay for it. But now, I pay $60 already.
It is because the new CC will check the HB version. So I guest the problem is pop up after you update the HB to the new released version, right? I have the same problem as what you mention. The current solution is to use the old test version of HB before a new CC version release. At least it work for me.
I have both CC Special Edition for Shaman and Paladin. Both are crashing HB. Please advise. 1st pop up before crash: "Config was overwritten" 2nd pop up: "Fresh HB need to be installed. I've tried many ways still wont work. I am on Win8 64 bit. If it's meter. Please advise. Thanks in advance.
How is shammy routine atm? Arena and rbg are implemented? (resto and ele) Is it good? Comparing to pally and monk cc.
