Who is quitting WoW for Rift?

Guild Wars 2 is definitely where it's at. I didn't make it to Rift beta 5 though, since it ended when I was about to download it.

 

Enough will quit and play to keep it alive, but I put it on the same level as Aion. We'll see how Trion can do with the RMT.

As for the game...people aren't lying when they say, GENERIC. I played it through level 16 and there was really nothing at all that I found all that innovative. It's Warhammer with a slightly different skin and polished some. I'm sorry, but a PvP centric game will not capture the mass appeal that WoW does. PvPer's are always mistaken for a majority, but they are a vocal minority and therefore games catered to them will always ultimately alienate the PvE players. Unfortunately its the so called "Care bears" that keep a PvP game alive.

Thinking about it I find it similar to a preditor eating all of its prey at once. PvPers want to stomp faces, especially on unsuspecting noobs, but those people tend to quit when they get griefed. The PvPer may say that its not griefing, because it was a fair kill and they were just a noob, but at the end of the day if your opponent quits then you have no one to fight.

As for the rest of it, it was alright just nothing special enough to capture my attention.

 

Protip: Rift is wow in a new jogging suit.
The only thing other than WoW I'll ever play online is phantasy star, mmmmmmmmmmm <3.

I have enjoyed the Rift beta here, but not sure it will be what I want. Besides funds not there to buy another game right now.

I am going to give it a few months and see how it pans out. I have tried the quit for other games enough times for them to not play out like I wanted.

 

Just wait until Guild Wars 2 releases,fresh gameplay,i only bot on wow now,been playing since early vanilla and nothing can make me start playing wow as i used to

No Tony. WoW is just the MainStream mmo......made simple so millions can play it.

theres far better mmo's out there its just that wow is the most well known due to there Scam with Warcraft 1 2 and 3.... only thing simular to warcraft 1 2 and 3 is the apperance other than that its a Everquest Dark age of camalot Rip off lol

 

Unfortunately none of these games ever last more than a few months.

Might try Rift, but I doubt I'll want to go another addictive game. Probably just going back to Ragnarok Online, and keep botting WoW for some extra little $$$ to spend on goodies(Gametime, Subscriptions etc).

 

Rift is really a great game but I dont want a new WOW.

I'll will check the next days Black Prophecy. A free to play space mmo.

I'll be playin Rift for a while, it feels like WoW to me with a lot more depth. I played WoW for 5 1/2 years and I just need something to give me a break from it, and I feel Rift is that break I need, if not perhaps even the game that'll get me away from WoW permanently.

I hope they do cripple WoW a little bit and force them onto their feet. It feels like they've grown to lax sitting on the MMO throne and it's about time someone stepped up (TOR, Rift, or Tera) and gave them a show. If it causes blizzard to attempt to keep up with competitors I'm all for it!

I like rift, I quit wow month after cata came out (playing it), it was boring and they nerfed arena too much. I like the world rift events and I have a great guild, the bg queuesa re fast and I'm looking forward to RVR

No way, I quit before rift came out I didnt even beta test rift.. it is nice to have something different, but screw WoW. Major attraction for me is PVP and they nerfed that shit in WoW, I'm lookin forward to some RVR hopefully like DAOC used to be and not like how WAR was.. yeesh
